Mike1960 Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Hi everyone. Just a short hello from me (Mike). I’m returning to biking after living through 21 years of failed marriages. I’ve bought all the up to date clothing, now just waiting for my refresher course at MTS. After this I’ll be trying to choose which bike to buy, but that’s another story. TTFN 1 Quote
RideWithStyles Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Hi Mike, welcome. sorry to hear of the life woes but returning to biking will fill some gap. good idea on the refresher course. bikes and yourself will have changed so your scope of what to look for could be different. things that have gotten better are the kit as you’ve probably worked out, tyres, suspension, smaller engines producing more power so I wouldn't get too hung up about cc but the prices has gone up. At first I was thinking of a Yamaha FJR1300 or the naked XJR1300 sp, but I’m now looking at Hondas good old VFR800 vtec. Quote
RideWithStyles Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Yep, cool. personally I’d pick the vfr over the heavy lumps, giggles it will be but pushing tankers and cleansing a million fin stacks can be tiresome. Good bikes but Be warned some people don’t like the v tec versions… Have you also look at a few more options? what are you looking at doing with the bike? Sunny social? Pillion? what do you like or don’t? Fairs or naked? Preferred brands? what did you have before? Peeps on here have good suggestions, if we can get a stake in the ground first? Quote
