Ratser Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 on Sat done the stathaven to muirkirk and onwards. was a great run the muirkirk road had gravel at every junction, then got lost along a road with no fences and nothing but sheep and rams all over the road. still a great run It's not a bad wee road until you get to where it hasn't been resurfaced. And I hate that tight downhill part to the wee bridge (not the sweeping right hander at the other bridge with the layby). Always wet and gravel on the corners there. That is my wee quick blast route, then stop at the cemetery at Muirkirk for a cigarette. Quote
Throttled Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Got soaked this morning riding to Arrochar along the Loch Long road, lunch at the Pitstop Diner, back down Loch Long and then in the mist over the Glen Fruin Rd to the Loch Lomond Rd (A82). http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=Arrochar&daddr=56.10018,-4.83789+to:Muirlands,+Alexandria&hl=en&ll=56.120678,-4.829865&spn=0.192149,0.925598&sll=56.124888,-4.693909&sspn=0.192128,0.663986&geocode=FQF6WQMdTou3_ylt0Bk0J1OISDEJLOtEGUEWZg%3BFVQFWAMd_i22_ymp3QvoHqiJSDEwOWDcGWgMEw%3BFYMvVwMdtgC5_yk9GhaVbauJSDGMacOG_n40Rg&mra=dpe&mrsp=1&sz=11&via=1&z=11 Quote

Throttled Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 Up to Buchlyvie for a black pudding roll, then did the rest of the Carse of Stirling. Meant to come back via the Carron Valley, but it was closed, so had to come back via Kilsyth and Kirky - boring. Got a sore bottom, so I have bought a gel seat pad. Quote

Ratser Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 We were later going out or else we would likely have made a trip to the welly via Inverary.Good run all the same, and loads of bikes passing through Biggar. Quote
iiisecondcreep Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 We went up to Oban via the Green Welly today. Late heading out because of police interview taking aaaaages then having to jump start the bike Absolutely cracking ride, though I am a little bit achey from my 203 mile trip However, tired achey muscles whilst unleasent is MUCH better than crippling back pain Think I have done as many miles on the VFR in 2 days as on the gsxr in 16months Quote
gordon276 Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 get out and enjoy it thats what i say i would rather go out all day than just for an hour yesterday was a 285 miles for me and to be fair most runs i do are 200+ milesthe borders are always busy when the weather is as good as it was close to home for most people and some truely great roads Quote
Ratser Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 John McGuinness is in HG in Glasgow on Thursday night.Might go on the bike. Quote
