Stu Posted December 19, 2008 Author Posted December 19, 2008 not too bad then plus you still have one drying out Quote
Guest Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Do you just run it off the battery or have you rigged it up somehow?have a cigarette charger socket wired up on bike so it gets a charge and also a 12v usb charger adapter for charging phone/mp3 player Quote
Guest Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Did you see the Gadget Show this week? They had a system for waterproofing anything, including mobile phones which even worked under water. Something like that would make all SatNags suitable for bike use.I hope they roll it out soon as it would revolutionise outdoor gear and electronics. Quote
MonkeyKnuckle Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Can anyone give me an idiots guide to wiring up a 12v cigarette lighter to a bike?It can't be as simple as attaching the + wire to the + terminal and the - wire to the - terminal can it? Quote
Stu Posted January 8, 2009 Author Posted January 8, 2009 It can't be as simple as attaching the + wire to the + terminal and the - wire to the - terminal can it? yes as simple as that Quote
MonkeyKnuckle Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Oh..Fantastic! I'll hook one up and leave it under my seat then. (When I get my bike working that is. ) Quote
Fazer Pete Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Nearly bought one yesterday. Was trying it in the shop though and it couldn't find where i live. The mapping didn't have any of the odd numbers in my street. And my house is over a 100 years old, not a new development. Might be getting the Garmin Zumo instead as they're maps could find it.None of the other Tom Tom's could find my house either Quote
MonkeyKnuckle Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 I bought a Zumo yesterday as I saw one going for cheap...ish. Haven't been able to try it out yet due to my bike being dead but I've played around with it and it seems really good so far. Got lots of fancy features on it. Quote
