DutchMick Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 For me its not the point that its not live on Eurosport anymore, its the fact that the BBC wanted the exclusive rights and are totally f**king it up, driving more people away from enjoying what is a much more exciting sport than tennis or bloody F1 or dare I say snooker. How much time is spent previewing, repeating and talking about those 'sports'? Quote
techno Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Thing is , its not about excitement just look at the amount of footy ffs its about money and popularity and bike racing will always be the poor relative unfortunatly! The blame should lie with Dorna for not making sure that the beeb would do a good job but they just counted the money too! Evs7 Posted July 19, 2009 Author Posted July 19, 2009 nice long build up again today. 10 minutes.... they got to speak to one rider on the grid. Plus they didn't even have time to watch the podium celebration because...... oh thats right they needed to broadcast the Eastenders Omnibus.... a repeat.... Great job BBC. Why don't you sell the contract to someone who will do it justice.I expect Matt, Suzi, Chalie and Steve are p***ed at the p*** poor job the BBC are doing with a sport they love. Quote

Was getting very annoyed with the commentators as well as it seemed to take them about 2 minutes to see anything happen. In the 125cc race it took a lap and a half to see a major pass even though the 2 riders in question were never off the screen!!Had a friend round watching with me and at the end even she was pissed off you didn't see the champagne celebration!!! bigsisterbiker Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 the coverage today was arse!was really looking forward to the race, as usual, but was totally disappointed with it. not the racing as such, but the director needs a slap. why concentrate on the front four where nothing much was happening until the last 6 laps?i'd liked to have known why edwards suddenly fell back from 7th to 11th but that wasn't even mentioned. and elias' race was talked about but none of his passes where shown!rubbish. Evs7 Posted July 20, 2009 Author Posted July 20, 2009 Don't worry it should be even better next weekend... The Formula 1 clashes with ..... THE BRITISH GRAND PRIX... oh not just any MotoGP the one in the UK.I'm sure Formula 1 will get a nice long program, while MotoGP will be another half ar*ed effort. As mentioned before I have no problem with the presenters as they are doing what they are told, but the producers at the BBC need a slap.Don't waste our license money on buying the rights to our beloved sport, then make it into a 1hr filler between the news and Eastenders.BTW how come things like the golf, snooker and Wimbledon bend the scheduling rules but when MotoGP runs a little late... oh no sorry the race is over... bye Quote

They don't just show 1hr, they show over 7hrs. Heres this weekends schedule if you don't believe me:-Saturday 25 JulyQualifying 1250-1600, BBC Red Button/onlineSunday 26 July125 and 250cc race1220-1435, BBC Red Button/onlineRace1500-1630, BBC One/onlineMotoGP Extra1630-1700, BBC Red Button/online I might be wrong, but unlike Eurosport, you can watch it online for free. techno Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 You shouldnt have to use the bloody red button, you cant racord from the red button so you have to stay in The beeb have enough channels they could use!In previous years when the gp clashes with the f1 they start the races at a different time so people can watch both if they want to.ah as Ive just seen this seems to be happening this year too! techno Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Can you thought you'd have to be in to press it then maybe record it kinda what i meant but hate bbc anyway Quote
hurtank Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 the only reason moto GP has low figures is because so many people dont give it a chance Quote
queen bodecia Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 I was at Donington today and recorded all the BBC coverage on both BBC2 and red button. Over 4 hours of coverage (which I have watched most of this evening). Can't fault it really. Quote
Steve365 Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Love the MotoGP coverage (mainly due to Suzi Perry to be fair ), but if I hear 'Are there any questions?' one more time......... Quote

queen bodecia Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 LOL! I didn't notice that. I just went to the EPG and selected anything that said 'motoGP' without noticing the channel number. Incidentally, if people want to record BBC red button coverage it's usually channel 301 or 302. If you look at the EPG it's listed as a 'normal' TV programme. BBC don't have any 'spare' non-interactive channels, during the day BBC3 and BBC4 are CBBC and CBeebies. But they do have up to four streams for interactive services, all available to record via the EPG. Hope this helps. Quote
Guest Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 LOL! /quote]as long as you got it, wasn't the usual rubbish either, had a bit of paddock action before the race rather than begining with the start lap.. I don't have sky+ or the red button, so takes what i gets with the normal licence steal.. Quote
MtotheJ Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Cmon Frankie fork out £30 odd quid for a freeview box and get that red button Quote

MonkeyKnuckle Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 You should have a red button on your digibox remote. Just press it while on BBC and it'll bring up a menu with lots of different things on. Quote
