I have never in my life seen so many bikes on the road and parked up at the Pondy and then at Swallow falls!

Me, Houdini and a couple of other mates headed off from the bike dealers to the Pondy a little later than expected and given the huge number of bikes coming towards us on the A5 I fully expected the Ponderosa to be empty when we got there. It wasn't it was chaos there  bikes and more bikes everywhere!! we parked up on the roadside and joined the queue for the loo and then for the coffee  Never seen so many people I don't know in my life lol

Headed for Swallow falls a fair bit later with a lot of other bikers and hit what can only be described as a 'bike jam' on the hill down to Betws y Coed. Switched off the engine and coasted at snails pace down to betws with hundreds and hundreds of fellow bikers 8-)

Swallow Falls was busiest of all  by this time Houdini and Tim were gone or lost on the roadside so when me and Jim managed to park up we went for a wander amongst the throng. Will be interesting to see what numbers were there today, guy's in the bikes shop heard 7,500 were expected.....I figure there were more, easily more!

Not the best rideout I've ever been on due to the huuuuuge numbers on the road but I can't stop smiling because today was one fabulous day for motorcycling as a pastime. Well done to everyone who went

Brilliant day, great company, good weather. That has got to be one of the largest rideouts for ages. Organised Chaos Bikes everywhere and hardley any police at all they kept a nice low profile, But i'm not going to chance going back for a while :D

Thanks eveyone for a great day

was thinking about going but had work at night and looking at some of the pics it would have took hours to get out and onto open roads to get home

think i'll get MCN this week for more pics and stories of what went on..... 8-)

Strange that when the DP says MCN claim 400 bikers are stopped each week it suggests an element of doubt, when in actual fact that is the figure given by the Heddlu themselves.

Subtle changes can alter the emphasis of a whole story.

Looks like an great day out for bikers.

Now the king of questions, has it or will it achieve anything, will it have a positive or negative effect on those non bikers who were around at the time?

From those who attended did everyone follow the adivice of MCN, i.e. no small plates and no loud pipes?

I doubt it will achieve anything but it was a great day out, and I changed my black visor for a clear one, but thats only made my mind up that a dark visor in sunshine is far safer, and regardless of the law my safety should come first.

a report in one of the local papers

http://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-w ... -24680345/

No way was there 3000 bikers.

There was at least 10000 if you ask me, even then that might be conservative. Everywhere was rammed!

10k or more is my thinking too! 3k bikes couldn't possibly fill the Pondy, the A5 and Swallow falls at the same time

Not forgetting the bikes parked up at the beauty spots and layby's all over the A5 and Betws y Coed was rammed at the same time too

Definatly more than 3000. There was easily as many that went to the Wirrak egg run and that drew 10000.

As for if it will have an effect, time will tell.

Agree with Voodoo, a dark visor yesterday would've been very helpfull, was struggling to see the road at times, with my iridium i would not have had problems

Was a Great day out Mark, If the weather had been bad i still think there would of been a big turnout, But the sunshine made it like a carnaval atmosphere.

There was still the odd small plate and cans cans with Baffles removed but not many.

As for making a difference personally i dont think it will (But then again I've never been pulled over in Wales yet)
