No idea what you are on about mate?

I must admit when you went over Matt i couldn't see you or the bike at first as you was so deep in the grass! Luckily it was just the indicator!

    (diversion worked?

    TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!

    P.S. Indicator now fixed, phew!

  2. Steve - will be good to see you again!

Just checked the weather and it's gonna be shite. Ok, not really, just didn't wanna jinx it!

    And Si....

due to changes with whos coming etc, i've decided to narrow down the meeting points.

0900 - Shell Garage opposite Strawberry Pub (Barrow)

    1000 - layby off J36, M6 (Hideaway Cafe)

    1030 - Devils Bridge

1100 - Morrisons Kendal to meet with Matt & Louise

    1200 - CA10 3PW The Greyhound, Main Street, Shap - (Wiggleit).

What are we doing for the other hour and a half after we've ridden from J36 to Shap in half an hour?!?!?

May I suggest a slight revision?

    1000 - J36 Layby (Hideaway Cafe)

1001 - Order full english breakfast

1015 - Consume full english breakfast

1030 - Sit around talking about how good the full english breakfast was and drink lots of tea

1130 - Set off to Shap

    1200 - Get to Shap

    Sound good? 8-)

  3. Planning a ride out on Sunday the 4th July. The initial idea is to take in some nice scenic roads up to or around Newcastle, have lunch then come back. Simples!

    Route (provisional):

Meet somewhere near/in Kendal, possibly the petrol station on A6 Shap Road, heading north to Carlisle on A6.

Take A69 to Newcastle, have lunch.

Heading back along the A69 but turning off to Alston, then over Harside top, down into Penrith, then probably to Devils then home.

Google maps reckons about 2 1/2 hours to newcastle, so I was thinking a meet up about 10am, to be in newcastle for lunch. Ish.

    Anyone interested, post below!

  4. Just been for a ride to Carlisle for the 500 mile service on my new bike ('59 Suzuki GSX650F), and a nice ride back through the sunny Lake District. All I can say is now that I have free reign over the full rev range, I am very impressed by the bike and now that I've had it for 2 months I can honestly say i'm glad I bought it. The torque is fantastic, it will pull from under 2k rpm in 6th gear without struggling, and it is very smooth, comfy and is still doing 200 miles to a tank. I know there are plenty more powerful bikes out there, but this feels like a big step up from the bandit 6 in terms of power and handling, and I enjoyed every minute of the ride today, even going over Shap, which is possibly the worlds most boring and sh*te covered road!

Bring on summer now, got lots of riding to be doing!!!
