I think he may have meant it as a suggestion to look at Motorcycle Roads Online, rather than a request for a ride...
However, if you do get a plan together to go to Ireland stick a thread up, i'd definately be interested in that!
Provided i'm not working.

Would love to go for a ride but my street has been an ice rink for just over a week now, still a couple of inches of solid ice and it's not melting. Absolutely no chance of getting the bike out at the mo
-
Added my available weekends to the poll.
-
Well I can't believe 2 people voted for the "Chuff off, it's november" option. How rude!
Might have to cancel this one as it's quite possible we'll end up at the bottom of Windermere or get blown off the road. Not liking the weather at the moment. I have another plan...
Bike shopping.
-
Sounds like a plan! Have a good one and good luck with the mod 1

Hi everyone, Me and Simon have decided to have a little ride out to obtain some winter gloves, so here's the plan.
Meetup @ Rayrigg Motors petrol station in Bowness at a time to be confirmed (musn't be too early as to preclude the consumption of bacon butties).
Initial route will be up through the lakes, eventually making our way to Heine Gericke in Carlisle, then back to Penrith somehow, either A6 or if we're feeling adventurous, over Hartside. Then probably back to Devils via Sedburgh on this really nice back road we found the other week.
Anyway, finer details can be finely fine tuned and finalised later, anyone interested? And which day can ya do?
(If it's 90mph winds and lashing down, it goes without saying that we're not going, in which case, anyone up for a pub lunch? )

Sorry guys and girls but I am going to have to retire from this one
Rode to Blackpool this morning for the service and it hurts accelerating and braking, right turns are especially painful and wheelies really really hurt
However I demand lots of photos
So all you have to do is pick a route that requires travelling at a steady speed and making lots of left turns! Easy!
-
I would prefer to ride it straight out, and tried this for a while, but as the area outside the garage slopes slightly up to the door, it's easier to ride in and walk it back out.
I try to make a habit of never getting into a situation where I end up having to push the bike uphill, cos i'm quite short. So if a parking space is sloping downwards i'll reverse in, and sloping upwards i'll ride it in. Cos let's face it, it looks cool at Devils if you ride in to a parking space when you arrive, but if you then have to try and push the bike back uphill out of the space when you wanna leave, the coolness soon wears off!

Wait - I am not taking my baby anywhere dodgy!
While we are at it I would also like to avoid - mud, cattlegrids, puddles, rain, sheep, birds, dave, speed bumps, gravel roads, bumpy roads - well you get the idea
M6 then eh..... fecking Power Rangers......
Well, this is Cumbria. I wouldn't be suprised if you came across most of those things ON the M6
-
Haweswater Reservoir?!? Are you sure? It's a bit of a bone-shaking ride. Lucky i'm working cos i'm never EVER going down that road again on a bike!
I know a good dentist in Kendal who can replace all your teeth when you get back from the ride though.....
-
Yeah, it were a right good day! Nice to meet you Wiggleit, and good to see TC again, on a bit of a mission to the lakes today.
I think it may have been me holding people up though, 2 up and all that!
Was a good route and a good ride, so thanks Simon for organising today

Might I suggest a meeting point in kendal for simon, andy, dave and me - Whitestiles petrol station on Shap Road
Anyone who needs it can get fuel then we're straight up the A6....
I think morrissons is undergoing some work, it was closed last time I rode past
-
Fantastic, well done!
Looking forward to meeting you on sunday, hope the weather's nice now!
Matt

We still doing this?

Hope you all have a good ride, sorry I can't make it. Went down the Buttertubs pass on Sunday and it's a cracking little road. Went to the Tann Hill Inn too which was only 4 or 5 miles from the top end of the pass. Might be nice for a little stop.

I would have liked to go, but i'm working.

Sadly I'm working, sorry mateys, would have loved to come on this one.
