  1. Ok, off to devils with louise, will be riding around the lakes most of the day probably, anyone around just send me a text - mobile no. is in the contacts section. JM
  2. No real rain forecast for today, should be reasonably nice! 8) Anyone about?
  3. Just a follow-on from QB's thread. So, who's up for a ride or a meet either on the Saturday or Sunday? Maybe meet QB at Devils on saturday and go on from there? Any takers?
  4. Well i'm still up for a ride either sat or sun, so we'll see. Should be able to sort something out. Matt
  5. Now that IS a nice road. We should definately put that on the list for this weekend if the weather holds (which at the moment looks like it might)
  6. Hell no matey. My 1st TMBF rideout was on a 125 cruiser that would only do 60 flat out, along the A65 to Harrogate with 7 or 8 big bikes behind me. I for one am grateful for how welcome i've been made to feel on rides on my 125, and I hope i'm not alone in saying that these rideouts should be open to all forum members regardless of bike. JM
  7. Don't know if these have been posted anywhere but here's the group at the cat http://img373.imageshack.us/img373/9986/catgroupah0.jpg And one of me and my girlfriend who i had as pillion for the run http://img373.imageshack.us/img373/8421/catmeandlouiseoe5.jpg
  8. Well then, only just over a week to go QB! Who's still up for a ride? Anyone got any ideas/preferences for a rideout on the sat/sunday (26th/27th July)? I'll be free all weekend. A trip round The Lakes ending at a choice beverage-serving establishment perhaps?
  9. We were warned about 3 speed traps on the day - A65 towards skipton (marked mitsi evo in a layby) Cat and Fiddle (marked speed van) Lancaster to Hornby on the way home (2 marked bikes with mobile speed gun)
  10. Back home, 9am til 6pm - stopped at Devils on the way home Route went like this: Kendal - Skipton - Halifax - Buxton - turned back before we got to Matlock due to closed road - Cat n Fiddle - Stockport - Preston - Lancaster - Devils - Kendal. Total of 250 miles. B*gger me. Long day but absolutely fantastic. Thanks Keith for leading the way, nice to meet everyone at Halifax and the Cat. Now off to buy a bike with a fairing to make those motorway miles slide by...
  11. Just getting the bike out. Will be leaving in an hour to rendezvous in halifax. And it's sunny here too...
  12. Is this still going ahead Keith? I have a free weekend now, so quite fancy coming along - with pillion Matt
  13. I'd be up for that. Don't really have a preferred night. If i'm free, i'll pop along.
  14. Sorry to all who were thinking of coming along on this one, but i now have to work 2 out of the 4 days so we won't be going i'm afraid. Still got wednesday/thursday/friday off so if the weather's nice we might be out in the Yorkshire region for a day trip. Once again sorry to all who were thinking of coming along. Matt
  15. Dragolith told me about the site, but I voted 'Cos i wanted to meed other bikers'. Cos i did. And whadda you know, 1st rideout - Pudsey run from Devils to Ripley Castle, great bunch of guys who didn't mind a learner (at the time) leading the pack along the A59. Friendly, helpful and people on here seem to have a good laugh and get along. What more could you ask for in a forum? Except free stuff
  16. Would do if i weren't working. Have a good one though matey!
  17. Just spoken to my 2 mates who i'm camping with and should be over on the sunday for some/most of the day (depending on how much food is readily available!). The rest of the bank holiday weekend we'll be sampling Yorkshire's finest Black Sheep Bittter See you in Hull Viks!
  18. Yeah, my girlfriend wants to take a look. I've not riden the coastal roads from Filey to the Humber Bridge before so thought that section might be good. Spurn point would just be a little de-tour before we go over the bridge and down to Lincoln really. Philk - it would be good to have you along for that day, i reckoned it would be about 150 miles, but plenty of stops. Should be a good day out as you say. Para, sorry about that mate. I will have to bob down you your neck of the woods and have a rideout with you sometime - got really jealous of those piccys of wales!
  19. Nice one mate, speak to you closer to the time to arrange the finer details! QB its a bummer you're at work, but at least i'll hopefully get to meet you up in The Lakes in July. JM.
  20. I have a week off later this month so on the dates of 29th June til 3rd July I will be out on the bike with the other half as pillion, taking in some miiiint Yorkshire and Lincolnshire roads. Each night we're staying at a member of the family's house, but if anyone wants to join in the day's riding, they are more than welcome and the more the merrier! Here's the plan:- Sunday 29th June: Kendal to Pickering via Hawes Monday 30th June: Pickering to Lincoln via Scarborough, Filey, Brid, Hornsea, Spurn Point and Hull Tuesday 1st July: Rest day Wednesday 2nd July: Lincoln to Matlock Bath via Worksop (staying in Chesterfield) Thursday 3rd July: Chesterfield to Kendal via Wetherby, Harrogate and Skipton (A59/A65) Anyone fancying riding with us would be most welcome. Also, if anyone is out and about in an evening at any of the destinations (Matlock Bath on the Wednesday in particular), we'd love to meet up. Jadey.
  21. Lovely views mate, gonna have to check the roads in Wales out sooner or later i think!
  22. I'm camping in Masham that weekend (on the bike n'all ) so me and a couple of mates will probably pop along for a bit. Back to my old neck of the woods (Goole). Give me chance to meet a few of you from that side of the country.
  23. Bugger, just read this, and guess what? I'm at work
