TRIUMPH Bonneville 2003 Restoration Advice
RichRuk replied to mcnillis's topic in Old Motorbikes, Projects and Restorations
New tyres. The only thing between you and the road. -
I have an old frame from a Honda CX500 and was thinking of creating a one off resto mod. I have just sent if off to be blasted and powder coated and now my attention turns to a doner engine. I know the 500 lump out of it would slide right in but I want to increase the cc. Does anyone know a good doner engine that would fit in the frame with minimal fettling? Thanks in advance!

He said he was numb to the 'war zone' as he was of his face on heroin!

Hoarders? Or passionate collectors? Its nothing to do with mental health. People these days use that term all too liberally, it looses all meaning if anything can be tarred by the 'mental health' brush.

Of what? Anyone can talk about motorbikes, the guys I'm jealous of are the amazing engineers. Wish I had their skills!

I wonder what all you guys think of Henry Cole, some say he's Marmite. Some say he's just an annoying posh boy who knows naff all about restoring motorbikes, although admittedly he does know how to talk about them and ride them. Personally I like the guy, I have met him a few times in real life and he seems like a decent guy, but it does annoy me a little when Sam, Allan and Skid do all the work whilst the TV guy gets all the praise. Without the team of craftsmen he has around him do you think he would be as successful? I'm not bashing him, I really like him, I just think the others should get more recognition for the amazing restorations that they do and not make Shed and Buried about the showman, rather the restorations.. Just me? OK then!
