  1. Cheers guys! Aced it, Mod 2 booked in for 8:30 next Tuesday. Nearly there!
  2. Tell you what, when I have to sell mine in a couple of months, you can all tell the prospective buyer how amazing it is Then you'll have someone new to poke fun at
  3. Mod 1 booked for Wednesday morning! Not long now
  4. Should I buy a Chinese Bike?
  5. I could barely see a thing on my commute today, had to ride visor up and get a frozen face As soon as I finish work tomorrow it's off to Cambridge Motorcycles. Also, does anyone have the issue of Ride from a few months ago wherein they reviewed a whole load of winter gloves? Want to get the attractively priced Furygan pair that they named as the underdog but no idea where our copy is. Ta!
  6. Hahahaaaaaa! This is the guy that went green laning on a Gixer I was laughing about this with my DAS instructor earlier
  7. Section 8 top fairing removal - http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k96/s ... 89d005.jpg Fairing exploded diagram (E models) - http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k96/s ... daac7e.jpg Fairing exploded diagram (D models) - http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k96/s ... 3b8ed7.jpg Note to moderators - I realise that there are issues with copywritten material, I'm only posting these as MidLifeBiker has already paid for a Haynes manual and I'll take the files down once he's done.
  8. Any use? Let me know if you need another bit. http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k96/spastic_potato/20140119_155720_zpse3eeb418.jpg
  9. Oh, suddenly remembered that I have the Haynes for a ZZR - gimme a second and I'll photograph the relevant pages!
  10. f**k it, I officially give up trying to warn people not to get Chinese bikes!
  11. Various bits of Rammstein - haven't listened to them much in a few years, now I'm back on them I can't think why I ever stopped! Great fun.
  12. My bike lives! Now I just need to find the time to get some tags... Can't wait until the clocks change and after work rides become a more attractive option.
  13. Back in action! Can't describe how good it feels to be back on a largely functional bike, at least not without someone moving this thread to the adult section
  14. I know I fully plan to write a "Chinese Motorcyle Diary" for the forum when I finally get shot of it, and in the future we can just link prospective chinese bike owners to that thread instead of trying to list all the reasons every time Gonna have fun when I sell it, firstly because there's no way I can do it with a clear conscience and secondly because if you look on Google for a review of this model, my review here on TMBF is the third result...
  15. Well, after Bob helped me establishing it was certainly the solenoid, the bloody front brake packed in on the way to Halfords So now there's no question about it, Rick StringItTogether is fixing the damn thing! One ride to Bedford later, I only had to rely on my feet to stop the bike once... Be back to relative functionality in the next few hours
  16. As I've said in other gear threads, my textiles kick butt. I'm yet to have water get through them (and believe me I've pushed them), they dry out really quickly, they're amazingly warm but also have vents and do well enough on hot days, and they do their job when hitting the floor too
  17. I dunno, I think you'll have a fight on your hands from Roxyy... I had my turn at being the best 125'er last year, I'll give you a chance this time round Not gonna be on one much longer if I can help it!
  18. Hey, that was YESTERDAYS photo. Here's the one I took earlier today. http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg169/chuckcmu/95c8f252.jpg
  19. I have an excuse, my bike is a heap
  20. It made me laugh The business I work for recently relocated from Peterborough, and there's one particular person who is forever saying "in Peterborough this" and "in Peterborough that" - I like the Peterborough lot, but I'm starting to dread the place BMF should fix that.
  21. Hahaha, the bare faced cheek of you Moo Cheers for the offer Bob, but I think I'm fairly satisfied with my troubleshooting - even if the new solenoid doesn't fix it, given past experiences it certainly wouldn't hurt to have a spare Also, I think I'll improvise a bit of plastic to shield the solenoid from the elements a little in the future. Can't be that healthy for it the you can draw an unobstructed line straight to it from the rear tyre
  22. Oh, look at Mr Smarty Pants with his rational ideas
  23. Frequently in a nearby hedge, which is why I haven't been putting it on the bike much in all this wind Serious answer though, when the covers are soaking we shake the worst of it off then hang them from the wooden chairs in the kitchen and mop the floor later.
  24. Ooh, might give that a go. I'll see if I can set my phone to dial 999 on a timer so if I screw it up and I'm not conscious to deactivate the alarm things will work themselves out ok
  25. In theory I could probably connect it up if I tried, as the connectors on my bike are the slightly larger of the two... but in this sort of area I have no idea what I'm doing (to clarify; I'm currently Googling amps to remind myself of their significance as mine is 4A/h and hers is 6A/h...) and I know there'd be hell to pay if I were seen to have abused Ermintrude in any way Also, having gutted both a Chinese bike and a Honda CBF today, let me just say that it's a little bit like this comparison: http://www.craftychild.com/image-files/finger-painting-with-texture.jpghttp://www.braingle.com/trivia/art/1.jpg
