  1. I'm going, but just for one day. Haven't got the cash to splash for camping! Plus camping gear takes up valuable space that I'd rather fill with crap I buy Will check on here Friday night to work out which day is best to go, would be nice to meet up with others for a bit.
  2. Had a good time as ever! Caught the start of some rain in Boxworth, hope everyone made it home relatively dry.
  3. I plan to be there tonight, especially as I missed out last week.
  4. Was very nice to see everyone, sorry to have missed you Neil! Nice little pub, too.
  5. After you guys set off from the White Swan yesterday, we came to the conclusion that it sounds like a mechanical dragon. This is a good thing. Best sounding bike ever, period. And quite probably the bike I covet most in the world.
  6. We're just getting kitted up, no idea what time people are aiming for but hopefully will see some of you.
  7. Dammit, just remembered I'm on a business trip next Tuesday... Guess it'll be another week before I come along
  8. I've been told my bike should be ready by Monday/Tuesday next week, so I should be there! Think I'll be on the water after paying the repait bill, though
  9. My bike is at the hospital for a few days, so I can't join the fun this week
  10. My heart sank when I read about Ultimate Bike Gear Maybe someone should suggest to Wheelfit that they start doing a BBQ to fill the void...?
  11. Amazing, cheers guys
  12. Hiya all, The new bike came fitted with a Scottoiler, but try as I might I can't find instructions for this particular model on their website. Does anyone have this model (or similar) who can tell me which tube to disconnect in order to refill it? Don't want to break any more bits of the bike just yet...
  13. We've just got back from a camping trip near Southend (Yes, it was cold. Yes, we're slightly mad.) and while we were out there we discovered a great little diner in Hullbridge. Found it during our ride around on day 2, and stopped off again for lunch on the ride home. Do an amazing fryup at a very nice price, and unbelievably friendly. A hailstorm started as we were getting ready to leave, the bloke we'd chatted with insisted that we come back im where he fit us in at a big table with some of his friends and did us a drink each on the house while we waited out the weather. Can't recommend it highly enough, if you're anywhere near Hullbridge then it's worth the detour or using as a meetup venue!
  14. Just had the first biking & camping trip of the year, so we're officially all ready to go, as soon as something starts.
  15. Right, time for another update - and possibly my last, as I now have my big bike and the insurance has run out on the Lowride so it currently lives in my garage. And the last week on the road has been its finest, to be quite honest! My opinion of the bike has changed completely in seven days. Short version is, I was supposed to be giving my first ever pillion ride after taking the new bike to Cambridge Motorcycles for a general health check. They found something... rather horrible, and so the GS had to stay with them until a new part arrived. I was informed that I wasn't allowed to back out of the ride that afternoon, so the Lowride was called up one last time One week on, and the Lowride has clocked up nearly 700 pillion miles. It's as gutless as ever, but no more so than it was when I rode it alone - it really doesn't seem to care about the extra weight. Apparently it was very comfy, and it felt fairly stable from my point of view, so good stuff all round. And on another note - part availability. I know this is a big concern for Chinese bikes, but the one time I needed parts for the Lowride, they arrived ONE WORKING DAY after I ordered them... whereas the new part for my 14 year old BMW took seven days to arrive. It doesn't make much of a point, but it's interesting none the less. So in short... the Lowride did me proud in the end. It came through for me when I needed it most, and it's going to be difficult to convince myself to get rid of it now. That'll do, bike. That'll do.

  20. I found a really good trick with my Lexmoto, actually! Top secret though: Works wonders
  21. Woohoo, all paid up at last And I've had words with the boss about ducking out early on the Friday - works out well that her birthday is the following weekend so she has to live by whatever rules she sets for me
  22. And I'm around and always up for a ride! I might actually keep up with people on the new bike
  23. The engineslayer strikes again
  24. The coffin dodgers going at 25 on the nice long straight national speed limit road on my way home, who accelerated when I tried to pass (just enough that I couldn't get in front before the oncoming van was too close for comfort), and the dropped back down to 25 and proceeded to swerve out in front of me on every attempt at overtaking thereafter.
  25. One of the videos I watched prior to getting my bike included a guy dropping his GS while fording a river, two of them upend the thing to get the water out then keep trying to start it until it plays ball Thinking that they carefully re-cut that bit to make it look easier
