  1. We don't have to, if general consensus on the day is that people want to do the Berkhampstead route (which I must admit looks quite nice) or Hadleigh (Essex, ick) then I'm happy enough pottering along to the start point to meet everyone then going my own merry way. There must be some half decent lanes between The Star and Cambridge...
  2. They look like some good routes! Not sure if my arse could withstand the two longer ones, but I'll come as far as The Star then work out what I'm gonna do with the rest of my day
  3. I should be a teeny bit faster, seeing as I'm aiming to have my running in service done on the 23rd But yeah, 125s are always welcome
  4. If you can still get your leg over to get on the bike that is , like your thinking though Got that one covered! http://www.motorsportretro.com/2010/02/dakar-rally-on-a-vespa/
  5. My plan is that when it all starts to go downhill I'll flog the house and use the money to fund entering the Dakar as a privateer... That should bring things to a thoroughly awesome and messy end!
  6. Awesome! Also, if you don't actually look like Terry Thomas I will be disappointed.
  7. Arwen, you're missing an important point: the chances of our generation ever getting to retire are now so low that it's barely worth bothering to save for a pension... So all the more money to spend on bikes while we're still young
  8. What a coincidence that the ride you decided to plan after reading our original thread happened to be on exactly the same day as the one we were planning! But at least you're free to tag along with us seeing as nobody signed up to yours
  9. When I get home I'll check with the other half if it qualifies as brain surgery
  10. Even if they can accept tubeless tyres, that doesn't mean they're fit to use them without tubes. Spoked rims always need an inner tube, bar one or two special (read: expensive) cases like the R1200GS or the Caponord (and maybe one or two others). As EAB said, the person that fit the tyres must be bloody incompetent! And to a spectacular degree, at that! Go back there and demand that they refit the tyres with your original tubes... and if they've chucked them, demand that they replace them free of charge! This is hardly rocket science for them
  11. There's a good reason for that
  12. That sounds like something that people experience after long prison sentences
  13. Are you genuinely encouraging us NOT to keep all our our shit in one thread instead of spreading it across the entire forum?
  14. Also, I can't see the map because work blocks Facebook links
  15. DO IIIIT
  16. Really sorry to hear it If you ever need a sympathetic ear (or just the usual sympathetic photograph of a Haynes page), you know where I am and I've always got the time.
  17. Oh wow, cheers for cutting all of us out at the end I think that's the exact same stretch of road where a twat in a black 4x4 undertook me, too... same guy having a very fun day out?
  18. Amen to that, my Samsung has gotten worse and worse with every update.
  19. Amuses me that Churchill is still deemed to be even remotely relevant in politics
  20. I still really enjoy gaming, but can't get my head around the console and game prices... Far too much money that could be better spent on bike bits
  21. Never mind, it'll all be worth it once it's done! If you don't know it already, get yourself along to http://www.chinesemotorcyclepartsonline.co.uk You won't find a better place to order parts for your bike; that site is owned by Llexeter, the same people who own Lexmoto. Word of wisdom, though; if you ever need a new chain, that's the one item you shouldn't buy from there. I bought one of their "heavy duty" ones and it stretched like crazy! But everything else they sell seems decent enough, brake components included.
  22. If you want to explain that to Lexmoto or Sinnis, be my guest! I'm on Lexmoto's site right now and almost all of the bikes have carbs, and I'm gonna guess they couldn't really get away with selling illegal imports on that sort of scale.
