  1. At the risk of lowering the tone, I love Joe Bonamassa and SRV, Hendrix and others but sometimes you can't beat a bit of Chas and Dave!
  2. Give the switch a jiggle first, where the bike's layed-up there could be something growing in there and on the contacts.
  3. Totally brilliant. I've had mine about ten years. No rubbed paint, you can put the bike away wet, no plastic melted onto the exhaust and is a lot more convenient: You only need to lift up up/down to get the bike in and out. Easy!
  4. Fairy Nuff. I use a Bike Barn so it's a moot point anyway If I did need a cover for more mobile use I'll keep prestige in mind. To avoid them!
  5. That doesn't sound like a glowing recommendation to be honest.
  6. You can use a leisure battery if that's what you mean but leisure batteries aren't designed for big currents for more than a few seconds. You won't do any harm exactly but you'll ruin the leisure battery if you keep doing it. You can use one side (12v) of a truck battery which will easily cope and for weekends away are a better alternative to leisure batteries, IMO.
  7. Megadeth - Rust in peace
  8. Wellies. Not the first word in protection but better than trainers and they keep the rain off.
  9. I've done Ireland and France. Cornwall can be a hoot too, especially when you get off the main roads.
  10. I got a Hunter waterproof jacket from a bike show a couple of years ago for £50. Frankly I'm amazed it still works. It doesn't leak but it does ride up and could probably do with a crotch strap. For the money I don't think it performs any worse than something costing 3 times as much. The fit could be better but for 50 quid I can't really complain.
  11. About an inch at the tightest spot.
  12. Won't start or won't turn over? Have you inadvertently dislodged an earth wire when you put the casing back? I don't know your bike but that's the first thing I'd check.
  13. Don't let them bother you. Most door mirrors will come off with a good, well-directed kick. Experience will tell you if they're just being a dick or ignorant but sometimes they're behaviour is so utterly beyond the pale, it needs to be punished. Not that I'd condone that sort of thing.
  14. I lift mine on to the side stand and move the back wheel round with my right foot.
  15. How come I can't delete or modify/edit my posts? That last one about peatboghorror was shit.
  16. I've been to the Peat-Bog-Horror show before and this year's one is less than a week from my birthday...
  17. Got em. Cheers
  18. Got plenty of that, Tiggy, just thought I'd try doing it properly first
  19. Thanks, Stu. They look like the kind of thing. Now the hardest part; going into Maplin's and only coming out with what I went in for! Cheers mate, big help.
  20. Morning chaps, I need to make an extension lead for my Oximiser but before I make the trek to Maplins I need to know the name of plugs. I've attached the best photo I can get with a phone but essentially, one side is square and the other side is 'U' shaped. Any takers? Cheers. Merry Christmas!
  21. If it worked fine before the downpour and it worked after you charged the battery then I'd say you need to look at the charging system. Did any water get into the alternator? Is there an earth fault? If you don't know the answer to these then the other option is to completely dry your scooter out and see if it mends itself
  22. That sounds like a euphemism
  23. I had a scooter nicked recently. It was my commuting tool and good for buzzing round the shops and short trips. It wasn't alarmed but was anchored to the inside of my iron garden gate and despite it not being worth more than about 500 quid, some dirtbag(s) had it away. It really is a PITA to have a bike nicked.
