  1. You can still get the Ipone strawberry oil that I've heard some people used to use...
  2. I was talking about 2 stroke engine oil. My bike uses an oil injector so I just fill up a little tank with the oil and don't have to worry about manually mixing it with the petrol.
  3. I've read some things about the smell of castrol R. I don't think they make it any more though. The other thing is my bike uses an oil injector so I can't use certain oils as they are premix only.
  4. I'm talking about 2 stroke oil for the engine, not gearbox oil.
  5. I need to get some more oil for my bike but I'm not sure whether to get some semi synthetic or fully synthetic. I doubt I'll even notice a difference but I thought I'd ask in case there's some big differences between them. I had a look on some forums and there was so many different things being said about each one, so does anyone here know a bit about the differences?
  6. Oh I didn't realise you could leave it so long, I thought it was every six months max and I just did it more often for peace of mind and to keep the lever feeling firm. I wont do it so often from now on. I'll get some new pads and see how things go
  7. When I say often, I don't mean like every week, I probably do it once every two months or something. My brakes are still decent (lever not near grip), just definitely not as good as they were. I don't have a leaking fork seal either. My thinking is that I might as well just replace them now because I'll need to fairly soon anyway.
  8. I have noticed that my front brake is slowly getting worse, I feel like they are noticeably worse than they were 2 months ago. I checked the pads and there is about 2.5mm of pad left. I saw that the minimum amount of pad thickness to pass an MOT is 1.5mm. Do you think I'd notice a difference if I got some new pads. I bleed my brakes quite often so they don't need bleeding. I saw this on the EBC website but not sure if it's a sales gimmick: "Discard the pads when 4 mm of one eighth of an inch of material is left to avoid brake fade."

  10. Nice work mate It reminds me of an Alan Watts speech I heard on youtube about how society is a hoax. You might be interested: https://youtu.be/IDqxgU7CbIw?t=82
  11. Was looking at some boots on various websites as you do and came across these. Do you think they would actually be any good for protection or is it just a gimmick. http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcy ... rod/231286
  12. Yeah I'm just gonna keep practising it. I also read somewhere that you should use your finger tips on the lever so you have more room to blip the throttle. Why is it easier without using the clutch then?
  13. Yeah that's what I want to do, rev match downshift while braking.
  14. Whenever I try to blip the throttle while I'm braking, I always let go of the brake during the blip which causes a jerk. Is there a trick to being able to do both at the same time? I'm only using two fingers for the braking and I'm pretty sure that my throttle free play is okay as well, it's not too much. Do you have have to use a different technique compared if you were just braking normally?
  15. It doesn't work for me either now, they must have done something with the video.
  16. https://www.facebook.com/uniladmag/vide ... 367186448/ *EDIT* Updated the link to a working one.
  17. Even as a kid I would feel like a right melt with that on the side of my bicycle lol
  18. This is what I thought at first but I've heard they don't like the students doing it because it clutters the space behind the desk. I'll ask though.
  19. I wouldn't mind keeping it on me if I was in one place for most of the day but I am constantly changing rooms. Also during a 20 minute break I go to the shop like a 5 minute walk away and wouldn't take the bike, so I'd have to walk around outside with a helmet and no bike. I'll ask around and see if there is anywhere I can keep it.
  20. I was looking at one of these, for £5 you can go wrong really. If I stick the helmet on the right handguard and lock it to it, it's sort of extra security because someone can't use the throttle either.
  21. I don't think I'd want a top box on my bike all the time and most of the people on my course are male seen as it's motor vehicle so the second option is out of the question lol
  22. I am going back to college for the 2nd year in September and I am going to be using my bike as transport instead of getting the bus. I'm wondering what I can do with my helmet during the day. I know from last year that they have lockers at the college but they're not big enough to fit a helmet in. Last year I saw people carrying their helmets around with them throughout the day but I can see this getting really annoying having to take it to each lesson all day. Would locking the helmet to the bike be a silly idea? It's not a very big college and the car park is in front of the reception area so it's unlikely someone would cut the lock and steal it. What do you think would be the best thing to do?

    WOW!

I'll show this to my dad and I can tell you exactly what he'll say... "I could do that". He probably could though tbh, he's been using the lathe for over 20 years.
  24. Nice job mate, post back when you get the new parts on
