I'm currently at college studying motor vehicle maintenance (level 1) and hope to go on to level 2 next year. I'm want to end up with a job in the motorcycle industry such as a technician or something but I'm not sure how to go about achieving this. Should I just try and get a job next year in a garage for experience as well as doing my level 2 course (only 3 days a week) and then apply for a motorcycle company after the course finishes? I don't know much about how this works so any advice is appreciated

When you say fairly soon would that be within just over a year and a half if it was looked after as good as possible? If I can get away with keeping that one for the time that I will have the bike then I will, I don't have £200 laying around.

So would I notice much difference from electrolytic rust removal, would it be worth it? I don't really want to paint it black, I had a look what it would look like on Photoshop and I don't really like they way it looks. I suppose I could just go at it with the drill and get it too look as good as possible and then use some autosol.

A while ago I asked about removing rust from my exhaust pipe but I have since got a different bike which has even thicker rust on the pipe. A lot of people recommended autosol polish but I think it might be to extreme for that. I have also heard about people using electrolytic rust removal to remove real thick rust but I'm not sure whether this would damage the chrome finish on the pipe. So what do you think is the best way to get it looking as good as possible, I know it wont go back to looking brand new but surely something can improve it a bit. The second picture looks different because I had a go at it today with some baking soda/lemon juice and a wire brush which seemed to work really well for other people but didn't really do much. Cheers

Trying not to sound like a knob here but the typical blonde moron in a shitty little fiat fiddling with her hair or some shit pulling out on me causing me to swerve into the next lane

Stick with CBT or do A1 test?

Hopefully with nearly 2 years of riding experience, I should walk the mod 1 & 2 -
Stick with CBT or do A1 test?

Just had a look on some training sites and they still charge around £250 even if you use your own bike and gear. I won't have to do another CBT because I did it after I was 17 and plan on doing my a2 as soon as I turn 19. Good point about insurance, I hadn't thought of that. I still don't think I could do it though, just too much money for not enough benefits. -

I was hoping you would say wait, I don't think I could pay that for the small benefits. Cheers -
I'm 17 now, turn 18 in October so will be 19 in 1 year & 8 months. Do you guys think it's worth me doing the A1 test or not. My cbt instructor said that it would be more than £400 for the course which seems like quite alot to pay to take off my L plates. It's just so annoying having it sticking out the back, I've already broken 2 of them, not to mention it ruins the look of the bike. I also can't really see myself going on motorways with a 125 but It's quite a while before I'm 19 so do you think it's worth it?

Good idea, I'll just leave bits of tubing underneath the clamps
-
I just gave hel a call and they said "it has to stay on the line because it strengthens it and could be dangerous if it was removed". Why would it only come with for certain model bikes though? tbh i'm still thinking about just cutting it off.
-
There's nothing in the instructions about it and I couldn't find anything on Google. I thought it was for shipping at first but the only way to remove it would be to cut along the line. Would they really make it that hard to remove?

I've just got a new hel brake line for my bike and the majority of the line is covered by nylon tubing. I'm just wondering what it's for, it seems weird that you would buy a coloured brake line to then have half the colour covered by black tubing. Do I need the tubing on there?

Yeah there so many more to choose from once you reach 150, it's annoying really. There's another Michelin tyre that's like the road 2 and I think that comes in 140 so I'll go with that. Cheers
-
Just had a quick look and the gap between the chain and the tyre is about 15mm so it should be okay but I'm worried that the profile will be messed up.
-
Ah I forgot about chain clearance. I'll have a look tomorrow. cheers

I currently have a 140 tyre on a 3.5" rim that needs replacing but I don't really like the available tyres. I really want the Michelin pilot road 2's but they start at 150. Would a 150 tyre be okay on a 3.5" rim or would it be too big. Thanks

I've got quite a noisy helmet so I bought a couple pairs of cheap foam ear plugs off ebay, but I must have stupidly small ear canals or something because they're a nightmare to get in and when I do manage they're painful within about 10 minutes. I was wondering whether anyone has experience with the R&G custom fit ear plugs or if there is anything that could be recommended. Cheers

I definitely recommend R&G, I have one and the thing is really solid and neat. -
