Already messaged you but its been a day, you on the 250 yet? I hope the 4th was with you, as today is revenge of the fifth. Happy birthday!

Lets note it now! IF you should go flying by all of us, leader n all, and a copper goes blaring by 20 seconds later, we'll understand and either see you at the meet up location or hear the story once you're out of the nick (I am joking for any outside readers thinking I'd seriously suggest running from police)

I saw a land rover copper pulling over a shabby looking car, I think he prob had the ANPR on and was checking vehicles that went by. But if the coppers pulled the group over, my plan was to hide behind Riffmaster and let him do the talking That KTM 390 duke was the shit! It's the style of bike I'm really into at the moment which is driving the desire for a MT07. It was fooking quick for a single cylinder 390, and it was a great small size so it just weaved up the group no problem at all, I loved the skinny back tyre, reminded me of the 250 2-stroke gp bikes, and its turn in speed was just mental. He has to come on more rideouts! I think my fav bits of that ride were the straight where I gunned it and Riffmaster passed like I wasn't moving. Where I had Paul Kent and Joeman behind on the loose stuff, was tense but great part of the ride as all the bends were blind, many had crap in the road or double apex's, or cars squeezing down the lane, but it demands good use of the back brake and smooth power control so even though it was slow, it was good to me, and also the chunk where I was chasing Matt Strange through a set of twisties, his bike was loud and sounded sexual on exits of bends We should do similar again, or meet earlier and do a route to Brighton, only issue could be moos knee (missing half her ACL) which aches after being bent for too long so may need to swap with someone if they have a bike with more rear leg room Gotta do it quick though, I'm having an operation that involves my face being cut open in June so won't be able to ride for a month after that!

Home safe! Was a cracking day out, no berserk pace, but a good quick one for most of the time there. Gave the bike a good workout too! Good to see familiar faces again, and new ones Right, I need to do a food shop for the week as the cupboards are empty and the shops only open another 90 mins. Shite!

Cylinders with twin plugs per head usually hold the plug at an angle to avoid the need for side sparking plugs! And on these bikes that's where it matters.

I probably wouldn't use carb cleaner on wheels that have been painted or powdercoated as the acids could damage the finish. That said if you use it to get a stain off, and then clean it normally you should be ok I imagine

On a 600cc bike I know the iridium's can run hotter and produce a more precise spark. But this only translates to a 1-2% increase in power. On a 125 or 250 you might feel the difference as they have so little to begin with, any change is felt, but on most bikes north of this, you won't notice anything on the road The iridiums do last longer though so not exactly the worst idea to fit them.

I hope this gets resolved and stops the bickering I'm meritocratic, which means I find a system based on where you're from offensive as it starves the more deserving of opportunity. This system mentioned doesn't even seem to account for more impoverished families so I find it more limiting in opportunity and more a left wing pat on the back to itself. But that's about it really. If your kid fits the bill, they should be taken in, especially at that distance. Schools should cater to people with siblings in the same place as a priority, and see if they fit the bill. It would promote more family values too. Let us know how it works out!

Most people are still grappling with counter steering here

I've got chicken wraps today (courtesy of moo) Try to get the chocolate bar out of the diet, your body will thank you I usually have a light babybel cheese, 4 half sarnies, a packet of low fat crisps, a yoghurt, and muesli bar of some sort and sometimes a small bag of nuts. It's costing me barely £10 a week and I'm getting 1000 calories in at lunch (avid gym goer) so you could easily go in with half of that, which would match in quantity what you have now and save a lot of dosh over the year.

That's always got me too, people seem scared of what you will think of them as if it exposes a nerve. I voted tory last time as I hated the 13 years of labour. Not hard to say was it National debt has gone up, but the labour squad always miss out the detail that the rate of debt growth they set off has halved, which the tories spin as halving the deficit. The rest of the parties this year are weak, Lib dems had a good thing going in 2010 then bent over for the tories. UKIP got the Australian style immigration system right, but it's based on 1950's style thinking and a lot of their members are closet racists. Plus they'd scrap the green initiative, which I strongly think you're blind stupid if you think we don't need one. This year I haven't a clue who to vote for, and I almost don't care who gets in... So this makes me think I shouldn't bother voting. As either way I won't be happy!

You're supposed to use both lanes and then filter in at the end, I don't see why people inside on having a much longer single queue than a slower moving double queue. I do it on the bike in a heart beat. And in the car I've not had one that extreme but I'll be following the others down the empty lane. That's the rules of the road! The Renault is just being your typical butt hurt, moral police brigade.

You probably clipped a chinese bike in a corner and that's all that remains of it Those pads have a few ride outs left in them, don't replace early as it just means more cleaning of the pistons that's always a bit of a faff

I don't mind discussing politics, last time round I ended up voting tory as I wanted labour out and the prospect of having the lib dems in there to offer balance swung me. I generally vote for who is the least bad That said the lib dems essentially let the tories walk all over them and we've had a tory government without the balance. Can't stand Ed Miliband, his brother David was the hot favourite with the public to take leadership and I agreed with his ideas. Would likely be voting for him this time round if he'd taken leadership. So who knows this time... I don't "do" political discussions anymore as people say "politicians only serve themselves". Which is one of the most hypocritical statements out there. Of course they do, the same way people serve themselves by voting for the one you think gives you the most for nothing.

Welcome back to the madhouse... We have pop corn now

Just nick it off the website... Always the best option! http://dailybikers.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/fail-lol.gif

If it starts resisting gear changes, or is quite clunky in other gears, do keep an eye on oil condition, chain adjustment etc as said above. But if it's a normal and regular noise then don't worry.
-
That's just it slipping past neutral and into 2nd. Always goes with a clunk as it's two movements of the selector at the speed of one. Unless it's loud or changes tone, no probs

I'm referring to the problems they had in general, and how it is a coincidence they had dodgy electrics in common. Having one fuse for the whole bike is bad! Sure it can hold up, but it's dodgy, and lends insight into the quality of the rest of the bike. And the Kymco was misfiring when you sold it, sounded coil related if not carb. And you rebuilt it so often it never had chance to go wrong And the Skyjet you fortunately got shot off quick enough you didn't get a dose of the horror those bikes reap! But onto the topic at hand. So it has one fuse, this can't have gone as it's still working. Ollie points out the wiring used to rub through, check this first. After that if no dice, check the bulbs in the back. Do the rear indicators work? Does the brake light work when pressed? If it all doesn't work, then that means the power line going to the back end is probably dead, there could be a big block connector to the rear or worst case, a short circuit has blown bulbs which would blow if no fuse was there to protect them. Also provide pics of the bikes wiring at the back.
-
Translation: Remember all those bikes I had that always needed rebuilding or fixing? They had dodgy electrics in common The jury is out on that new Lexmoto and I don't remember what Honda you had.
-
You mean to tell me a bike with electrified lighting systems and other electrical auxiliaries runs all that through a single fuse?! Even the Kymco engined, Indian built, CBF125 has 4 and that thing has me breaking sweat to keep up with its gremlins
-
Check the fuse for rear lights, then check the wiring is all plugged in correctly. If the fuse is blown switch it on, and then see which bulbs work. If one has blown it could have taken out the fuse as it went as they generally go pop if you hit a bump and a piece of loose filament bounces and shorts the bulb.

They are nackered and relatively straight forward to replace, get on youtube, and do it

It is flowing back! Even with an old front tyre and a rear full of tyre weld and I was still beaming as the likes of you and Phil accelerated away! As it presented a challenge to see how I could reduce or limit the gap. As a newbie on 2-stroke 125s my best experiences were always chasing the bigger bikes through the Via Gellia and the cat and fiddle. So was a familiar feeling I have missed I would have liked to do the 2nd part. Just had too much to do general life wise, and Moo's knee was in agony on the way back after a day on bikes as well as my head due to the helmet putting pressure on my temples (ear plugs stick out and causes it for some reason). But the hunger for more is now back!
