What is required in a clutch change? can it be done from the side of the bike or does it require pulling the bike to bits? i assume this would depend on the bike however lets say it was for a thundercat ?

Lid recommendations
BoB3rt replied to T3hscott's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
He bought the AGV K3, figured he wont come back and tell you guys so.... Peace! I also reccomended not to get the BOX lid, seem so poor/cheap, even down to the vent openings. -
They most proberly still own it, and using a standard layout from the provider while they do an upgrade themselves. All going Xml. now

How long did you wait to do a track day after passing?
BoB3rt replied to Stuno1's topic in Racing and Track Days
4 months I couldnt freakin' wait to kiss that apex Still, i have only done one track up to now, waiting to see if it warms up a little in feb to use the new bsb corsa tyres plus buying track bike this month with bit of luck... as techno says I dont want nothing to ride if i throw it down the track. -
I preff Ben 'Elbowz' Spies either way he's got my support.. bloody great rider

Do you like your 014's? I had them replaced this weekend with Maxxis Touring and I'm really happy I did it. i really hated them... Sorry, don't know anything about Diablos yeah i love them up to now, although i will say the diablos are a lot better for all season. ie Rain! i do take it a bit easier on these bridgestones, but i took them on the track and they were great, soft and sticky!
-
I can vouch for getting 5000 at least on my rear diablo. I had different front tyre but now have a set off bridgestone batalix 0014's which are spot on, not sure what models out now. 16's?

Yo, So me and a friend did our first track day at oulton park in october and had a blast! We were in the novice group obviously which was the largest with a mix of all kinds of bikes. I was on my ZX6R and my Friend on his R6 (both '99 bikes) we where both kind of nervous as you would be and worried about slowing the pace in corners etc... ..How wrong were we ! both of us were flying past everyone, I got overtaken by a R1 once (on home straight) later on in the day which i was expecting all day. However we get to next corner and i shot past him! - It was all just so unexpected. But the biggest buzz was jumping of our bike to look at our tyres we noticed when lining up for a next session later in the day most peoples tyres were in road riding condition. - i think we where the youngest there that day aswell, no fear? lol So onto the Q's : we had that much fun my friend has bought an R1 already for the track next year and i am on my way to buying a track bike. But i am wondering what the big diffrences of a 600 and 1000 are on the track... now i know the obvious things like more power to get up to speed faster and the wieght diffrence, but i am looking for advice from someone with experience. is it much harder to throw a 1000 into corners then the lighter 600? so if not an R1 then what could i aim for? also is it worth doing the 20min run round with an instructor for £25 (usually) or is that just money making? i'd like to better my lines but the guys that day just seem to be showing people how to get there arse off the seat on bends.. which i have no problem with (not saying am perfect though haha) I have another Q but cant remember it at the minute, will update when i remember, but any further adivce would be great ! Cheers

ahhh cheers man i will just leave it as it is. runs comfy at 1100rpm with a nice sound to it! might take it to dyno test place anyways to learn a bit more about it for when on a track thanks again
-
... that has no baffle, i was told by a guy i spoke to at the BSB the other week to lower my fuel mixture, he said my bike (zx6r '99) should be idle at about 8-900 rpm when it sounds more comfortable at 1100rpm (he had previously owned one). at 800rpm it sounds like it is going to die but how can lowering the fuel mixure correct that?
-
oh... i see now, i just took that as front sprocket haha... how is it diffrent if really only the speed of the rear sprocket is being changed? will need a speedo healer then. thanks
-
so i am on the right lines then... My speedo reads from the front sprocket so thats good so if i just change the rear by 2 or 3 teeth (any advice on which?) or there is a +5 teeth going on ebay at the minute for cheap but am thinking that could be too much? I can see how u mean it will wear the chain.. all in all it is definatly best to increase the rear. thanks for the help here!
-
Wanting a new set of sprockets and chain soon so i am thinking of altering the teeth too get a little more acceleration for the cost of top end (which lets face, it can't be used on the road - and my home track is oulton park which has not a great high speed) so to increase Acceleration i believe you can either add more teeth to the rear OR reduce the teeth on the front? am told that if you reduce the front teeth though you will need a speedo healer but if you just alter the back it should be standard. is this right? my bike (zx6r G2 99) has a 40t rear and a 16t front. I am thinking of increasing the rear by 2-3t hoping this will make a bit of a diffrence. main reasons are i like the look of bigger sprockets and my friends R6 is far to nippy on acceleration - I want! Also be getting renthals most proberly. Cheers!

Advice on One Piece?
BoB3rt replied to BoB3rt's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Yeah sorry i forgot to mention i had looked at RST aswell, and you were right that was a 2 piece but same model... altered pic now anyways thanks. suppose its best to try find somewhere i can try on the suits but its kinda hard to find places ! Not heared of crowtree... *searches* Thanks for advice! -
So i've been routing through the many 1 piece suits you can buy now but mainly looking at last seaons things as i have about £500 to play with and dnt really wanna over step that mark. Now i picked out 3 suits one being quiet a step above the price (dainese) but thats based on having some financial luck or a helping hand! Although i know that alpinestars (Octane) and Arlen ness (5908) have some suits for £350-400 to save a bit for my sidi boots so anyways here is some pics of the ~£500 mark ones and wondered if anyone has any first hand experience or opinions on them...? http://japan.webike.net/images/catalogue/13709/ls1-7864-an-black.jpg http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/images/InitialSet/dainese_stripes_prof_estiva_black_white_600.jpg http://www.cyclegear.com/images/streetapparel/bks_silverstone_1pcsuit_blk-wht_LG.jpg Thrown in a Poll aswell as we all like to vote Cheers

I think this could do with a change!! first time I have opened and looked at the front sprocket tho... glad I did the amount of krapp built up in there too!
-
thanks for the quick reply, I just came back to say that the noise has stopped ( since it's been layed up for 48hours ) I have never heared it do that before though, however I have just given the chain a clean and re-lube and checked for any damage but all seems ok and in tacked. ( including sproket is fine! ) just going to check my front sprocket. going out on it soon so will keep an eye/ear for anything aswell. Thanks again!
-
This is really hard to describe but after a long ride the other day, i was pushing the bike back into the garage and noiced at points in the wheels turning there is creeking... sounds like the chain being stretched! anyways the chain does have some give init, ie. i can waggle it with my little finger in the middle and it does go tighter in one spot which is standard i believe. its like a streching noice that sounds like tapping... i hope someone understands what that means. but i cant think of anything else it could be. Bearings? cheers, just looking for little help or advice. Ps. the chain is lubed!
-
Hi, Were can i find the the standard material for seats thats kind of stretchy. i have a leather type equililant at the minute but it makes the seat kind of film as the matial does stretch much. hope someone understands what i mean cheers
