    Help Needed

hello roadrash welcome to tmbf! say hello in the newbies section I'll move this to pitstop for you
  2. well done! enjoy being a proper biker!
  3. I'm going to do the boring old fart bit here! you're 16! being on the road is a privilege! the law says you can only ride a 50cc that will only do 30mph! somebody at the manufacturers spent months on a computer designing the exhaust to give the best performance, sound, weight etc etc to meet those criteria! do you really think you can improve it with a hacksaw/welder? all you will achieve is a badly running, loud, annoying!, death trap that, if you're really lucky will go 5 mph faster but will probably seize after an hour! get another standard exhaust, put it back on, ride bike as intended till you're 17, then go through the system to progress safely onto bigger faster stuff! I know this isn't what you wanted to hear but it's all you'll get from me, sorry!
  4. and we managed to move down a place!
  5. bex wants to know about living there! that's where the uni/college whatever bike course thing is!
  6. you're doing well!, keep at it! it's worth it in the end
  7. well done!, welcome to a whole new world!
  8. in 30 odd years biking i have never had a pair of leather trousers that actually fit me properly! but that's cos i'm fat!
  9. we stayed in formule1's when we went! cheap and cheerful but do exactly what they say on the tin only thing I will say is that they tend to be close to the big roads not the shops etc. you take pot luck with what you can find open for refreshments etc. we walked miles to get a beer one night
  10. that's only since appx 06 i think
  11. yes get new battery and charge, check volts before fitting, should be around 12v. fit to bike check again, should be same, start bike, check volts at tickover should be 12v-13v. increase revs slightly, volts should go up a bit. some bikes are high at tickover so just tell us what you get. if all that's ok turn lights indicators brake lights etc on 1 at a time, all the time measuring volts, volts should never go below 12v, if they do with back brake light for example then that's where fault is ok? let me know
  12. well that's telling you that you haven't got a fault to earth! now you need to put a battery on and get bike going. then put tester on battery on 30v dc scale and see what happens.
  13. ok put it on 200, touch leads what happens?
  14. 1 what? i think you got it on wrong scale
  15. good luck!, think positive!
  16. don't know about the record alan sounds like you're doing the right thing! It'll come mate and it is worth it
  17. make sure meter is on ohms, leads apart-high reading touch leads together-zero. get that right first! disconnect battery! test on ends of loose leads to earth, ( this means put 1 meter lead on a known good earth and then use other meter lead to test) 1 should be very low (connected to earth) confirm this! the other should be high reading(not connected to earth) confirm this! do above and come back to me, we'll get there in the end
  18. well done! welcome to a whole new world!
  19. I'm still not sure what's happening at work! I know where willy woods is If we're going we'll just see everyone there It will have to be a boring motorway blast for us! because of time restrictions
  20. bad luck josh!, keep trying, you'll get there
  21. bad luck! keep trying, it's worth it!
  22. that last lap was amazing! i thought jorge had got it, should have known better
