  2. Just a thought, have checked the cush drive in the rear wheel for ware and backlash? Chain and sprockets there's tons out there just make sure you get one to spec for your bike.

My thoughts were the cush drive too, as everything else is in a sorry state and this is easily overlooked on any bike.

  4. Having given this some thought, I spoke to a friend who I knew to have dodgy eyesight one side. It transpires she is totally blind in one eye, and pointed out that her visor was only cleaned one side on road trips as the other side wouldn't make any difference clean. She rides a 1250 Bandit, rather well I might add.

  5. There is no requirement for her to report no sight in one eye to DVLA.

She worried the same when learning to drive 11 years ago!

I think you have answered your question yourself there, it's all about confidence building.

btw, I know riders with one leg and a rider with one arm (the left one !)

  6. I believe it has changed a bit since 1980. My old work places are now an aircraft museum at the old RAF Gatow and I hear an apartment block on the top of Teufel Hill.

  7. If you can only have one vehicle through the winter, it has to be a car. It makes sense on many levels.

    Noooooooo !

For this winter I intend to have two vehicles  , last winter did the VN no end of harm :(

So for this years salting I will have the Divvi back ot the road, see doesn't have to be a car :D

  8. XmisterIS,

It is a simple case of the marketing people knowing what the customer aspires to, and that is the problem.

People want a car with all the bell's and whistles but only want to pay for the basic car, ergo the 'studio' range from F**d.

Simple case of 'you get what you pay for', if you want a car which has comfort ant a degree of class then buy pre-used (what used to be called 2nd hand) and get something more upmarket.
