  1. Hey folks, looking for a bit of advice on what might be causing this issue. I recently stripped and rebuilt my front (tokico) 4 pot calipers with new seals. In trying to remove the pistons (lots were stuck!) I managed to get a few teeth marks on the top edge of the piston from pulling them out with grips. I polished and Sanded the marks with wet and dry and got rid of any sharp bits that could tear the seals. Refitted them on the bike and bled the system. The lever builds pressure (but doesn't feel great), but after letting go for a few seconds, the next pull sees the lever going straight to the bar with zero pressure. I've got some stainless lines on the way that I'm going to fit, and if that doesn't solve the issue, then I'm thinking it could be the master cylinder needing new seals. Is it possible that there's still just air in the system? I'm bleeding manually with a tube with a one way valve on the end. All bubbles seem to disappear but the brakes are still giving me problems. Would love some advice! Thanks Michael ---- 2008 Bandit 1250
  2. I'm in Glasgow, but will be next year before the bikes back out though! ---- 2008 Bandit 1250
  3. Quick snap of my bandit after I'd fitted new renthal bars. ---- 2008 Bandit 1250
  4. I'd be keen to hear how this system is too please. My mate and I bought a dual pack of Cardo Scala Q3 and while the comms are OK, they're clunky and don't always connect when they should etc. No major grievances but just not as good as I'd hoped. ---- 2008 Bandit 1250
  5. Picked up a second hand top yoke and dropped it off to Saltire today. Ignition barrel is in stock now and bike should be ready on Tuesday! ---- 2008 Bandit 1250
  6. Update: spoke to the garage (Saltire Motorcycles in Edinburgh) and they've advised it will need a new ignition barrel (£170) top yoke (£220 but got one used for £40) and a couple hours labour (£65/hr) so not a cheap repair. Scumbags (the thieves!). Saltire have been super helpful in allowing me to have the bike taken there even though they're slammed at the minute and don't really want extra bikes knocking around, but advised me to get it off the street as it was probably a target for another night now. ---- 2008 Bandit 1250
  7. Yeah, Oxford chain and disc lock. Nothing else seems damaged but the top yoke has a huge crack in it where they've levered the bars round. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  8. Does anyone know if the steering lock pin cuts power to the ignition when it's in use? It's currently jammed in the lock position so I think that may be causing it to not power up when I turn the key. Having it recovered to a garage tomorrow hopefully so will see what they say, but expecting a big bill
  9. Managed to wiggle the key enough and get it to turn, but the key is going further than usual in both directions and the ignition doesn't come on in any position. I need to find out whether or not the battery is flat, but when I turn my heated grips on the display lights up so I'm assuming it's not so flat that the clocks wouldn't come on... 10. Hi guys Came out to find the bikes wheel facing straight and steering lock been forced round. Can't turn the key in the ignition now and I'm a bit stumped. Any ideas? Bike is a 2008 Bandit 1250. Thanks Michael Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  11. I could be interested!
  12. Will be there on the Sunday!
  13. Bought the black paragon v set last week. Loving it. Very warm and waterproof. Looks good as a set and loving the braces on the trousers.
  14. Unlucky mate. Sure you'll get it next time. What roundabout did you get wrong?

  16. I used Brooks Suspension for my rear shock rebuild and they were really good.

  19. Still not been down. Will need to head over one weekend.
  20. Filtered down the bypass myself yesterday bout 6pm. Very wet so trying to avoid the cats eyes. Majority of people aware of me and kindly moving over. So many oblivious and texting / drifting into the centre line.
  21. I got my shark evoline 3 from Firecrest near Glasgow and they were great at making sure it fitted correctly.
  22. Good effort for doing that alone. I like company too much and get bored of my own quickly! Where in Glasgow are you? I'm from Glasgow although living in Edinburgh.
  23. Thanks for the suggestions. I've just ordered a 1 tonne block & tackle to lift the rear of the bike when changing the shock. This will be handy for doing the forks in future too. Rebuilt shock should be with me next week with a freshly powder coated yellow spring. Been looking into handlebars and it sounds like I can use a speed triple top yoke and risers then buy a bar. Need to do some more research first to confirm though.
