my bike had done 300 miles in 4 years when I got it (and a total of 15k on a 15year old bike) with MOT gaps. it has been dropped and was running badly so think people just didn't get on with it. Maybe it was used on track who knows. With bikes the less you use them the worse than can get so (touch wood) a few thousand miles a year seem to be doing wonders for it If you're unsure walk away there a a lot of bikes out there
  4. I've seen the absolute mess slime does if you get a puncture that leaves a hole it the tyre and allows the slime to flick out EVERYWHERE. EVERY. WHERE. would not put slime in. the only green thing I don't like Had a puncture in my last brand new rear tyre. Went and got it plugged at a garage. 20 quid, lasted 10k miles. done.

  11. I started off cheap and have gradually replacing with more expensive stuff... As I realised when I just tallied up my current gear yeah go to a shop. if you're riding all year then decent waterproof gloves are worth the extra spend. Cheap waterproof overtrousers (ex army/police gortex are great and around 15 quid) are in my opinion money well spent. again a bit of extra cash for waterproof boots will be well spent. You will thank me when you're not riding with ice cold wet feet.
