  1. YEY you're from hertfordshire. Standard sprockets shouldn't be a problem if they're standard. I'm not sure what it might be, if it's digital then i guess it's either the speedo drive (wherever it might be) or the clock itself. If it's a mechanical speedo then it could be the cable? I'm not sure
  2. No expert, but to me sound like your start relay may have developed some kind of issue. Let someone else tell you better, but I'd say it'd be worth replacing that if you're going to replace anything first.
  3. does every piece of road in the north have a name out of the lord of the rings?
  4. what's all this, moving my posts *shakes fist*
  5. WOW, that is very clever. It's little odds and sodds like that get my attention in the metal work room at school. I'm sure i'll find a use for it oneday.
  6. good old fashioned brown bag.
  7. there was a thread on here a while ago about an american guy i think, who had a dear jump out infront of him, when he was doing 50mph on a ZX7R or simular. His bike had torn straight through the middle of the dear and the foot pegs and gear change had ripped at its innards and all the fairing and polished frame and wheel was thick splattered in blood. Was quite disgusting, the guy is so lucky not to have come off.
  8. noooo just if i'm at home. If i'm out somewhere i prefer the hopping about whilst madly punching your fingers swearing loudly method.
  9. I have employed a wooden spoon handle to shove the lining back in to each finger. bloody irritating mind, especially at petrol stations and there's people waiting, and there's you flapping about with your stupid glove.
  10. Well that's because you haven't been
  11. I think i'm on the wrong forum here.
  12. QUITE I think if you're spending £115 on a lid, it's not likely to shatter in to a million pieces on impact or anything so drastic. Is a mean looking thing though foz, i'd have thought better you get an open face, a bandanna and some aviator shades? That helemt would look awesom with a black steetfighter of some kind.
  13. Anyone else going to this? Dad says he wants to take me one last time before I go to uni and probably start going with mates. It's a fantastic day out for anyone that appreciate any kind of internal combustion engine. http://www.santapod.co.uk/e_europe_finals.php
  14. Had to have my clutch done a few months ago. Got a bit interesting, you'd clutch it, change gear, clutch out............nothing......then suddendly, off you went.
  15. I think it is considered good practice to replace split pins everytime you have to take them out. They're only about 5p or something anyway.

    Chain

I didn't know there was WD-40 NOT in a spray can! But i'd imagine they add something to stop it clogging up the pipe or something.
  18. Whatever happens, get rid of this bike. If the bolt holding a caliper on will unscrew itself, what's the one holding the cylinder head down going to be like? And do you want to find out. Frankly, i'd feel guilty selling such a death trap but i guess you got to. Don't expect much for it though, even in good nick these bikes depreciate like hell.
  19. Sounds like a right pig, atleast you know what the problem is. good luck.
  20. I quite like the look of some yellow bikes, in particular the Ducati 748. The nicest R1's imo are the red and white ones.
  21. no no hoddy the question he asks in the quote i used is "is it me?"
  22. In answer to your question, it seems that yes, it is just you.

    Braided hoses

Think I'm going to need some of your hydraulic bits contacts. I don't see why not though.

    Braided hoses

The braid would allow for stretch though. And surely if solid hydraulic lines on JCBs and other plant can survive the massive vibration from their lumpy diesel engines and ride over rough terrain, they could put up with a well balanaced straight 4 on Tarmac?

    Braided hoses

If the above is true, about pressure and swell, which i don't doubt, why not run a solid pipe all the way from calliper to the bars and along to the brake lever? Same for the back break? Surely a solid pipe will be much stronger than rubber or braided?
