  1. could well be wrong but might it be the CDI?
  2. Oh....FINE No no, you have the thread, no really, be my guest! :D:D:D:D:D:D
  3. It's a 4 pin male Molex connector on the jacket. Looked on maplin can't find a female one. Not afraid of chopping wires and putting crock clips on or w/e but wither the female connector, not much point.
  4. All i can see on the jacket are "Cordura" and "Advanced heating". Neither of which have caught any joy on google And i'm not sure Jabcross, it's a lining on the inside of the jacket, it would be hard to get it significantly wet. Btw is jabcross your name? I don't mean to seem uncultured, just assumed it was an internet alias from whatever.
  5. Got my uncles old jacket, and it came with an electric heated thermal lining. My uncles lost the connector for it though, and with the winter months approaching it does seem a nice prospect. Had a good google and can't find one, anyone got any ideas?
  6. From what i've read it's a pretty complicated business, and not normally something you can do in your garage with a blow lamp and a hammer. You need to bore out the cylinder so it's bigger, but then you'll loose compression because it's so fat, so you have to skim the bottom of the cylinder head to bring it closer to the piston. Both tasks require some serious milling machinery. Then obviously you'd have to fit an oversized piston. With regards cooling, I guess if it's water cooled you might have to adjust something to stop it over heating?? Not entirely sure, but it's not an easy job.
  7. Anyone who tries to nick it is just going to kick through it again. Sounds like you got plenty stopping them anyway.
  8. Yeah don't worry mate it's normal Sorry, felt left out. Thanks for reassurance guys and Rolla that's exactly what i thought tbh. And yeah rennie there s always a slight jolt in to first aswell, glad that's ok too. Cheers
  9. I try to set my speed gear before i go in to the corner, but if i get it wrong i'll adjust only using the rear brake and never hard. If you're reading this thinking, but why not the front, then you've never tried!
  10. Yeah no i'd never put oil back in to an engine, it only needs 1ltr my ickle bike it's not worth it. My concern is getting the spring bolts back on to correct torque (don't have a torque wrench might be worth investing). Then my other worry is adjusting the push rod / cable back so that it disengages and engages properly.
  11. Clutch was replaced about 1000 miles ago. I've got no reason to think the clutch is dead. Bulli you might have seen me talking about wanting to do it myself next time.
  12. Sadly my speedo drive is on the front wheel lol. It doesn't really jerk when it's in gear and spinning, i think it does if i rev it up a bit. I'll have a feel for clutch drag when i'm riding.
  13. Yeah I suspected it could be my clutch dying which is why I tried it in gear and stuff. All I can think, and someone tell me if this is stupid, but with almost no resistance, is it possible for the free spinning on the input shaft to have enough friction to cause this "drag" ?
  14. Started the bike today, bike was on its centre stand with the rear wheel off the ground. When I started the engine, in neutral, the rear wheel began to spin. So i stopped it spinning with the back brake, but it span again once i released the brake. So I put the bike in first with the clutch in, hit the back brake and the wheel didn't spin anymore. Is this normal? Are there further tests I should do?
  15. "After market silencer" Aren't those for guns? After market generally means face splittingly loud :D:D
  16. I'd have thought a big ol' top box would fit all your camera stuff in. Bar, probably the Tripod. how big is it, 3ft long? When collapsed? Strap it hard to the pillion seat?
  17. Cheers rolla, that's kinda what i had in my head but I wasn't sure what the tests for rich and lean would be. The manual mentions adjusting the throttle stop, "adjust idle jet to the highest possible stable tick-over speed speed, this speed can be altered with the throttle stop" Yeah the clear tube idea is mentioned in the book aswell, sounds like alot less faff aslong as you've got level ground.
  18. Thank god for that, cheers Tim That makes life alot easier. I've got this saturday off work, so i might have a little tinker then. And hey, if it all goes wrong I get monday off
  19. Ok, on re-reading, haynes manual says "check float chamber level" yeah ok "Then run the engine until it's at operating temperature and adjust the pilot mixture screw" THen it gives a load of symptoms for over rich and stuff. but as far as i can tell, this screw is inside the float chamber, do you really have to take the float chamber off, adjust the screw by quarter of a turn, put it all back together, and run it again!?
  20. Basicly, I'm pretty sure my 'ickle bike is running a bit rich, the mpg isn't anything like it should be, and occasionally the spark plug cokes up a bit. I've read many websites and many books and have concluded that I need to adjust my throttle jet? Can this be done without completely dismantling the carb? As the signature says, a bit green. Cheers all
  21. General rule i've read is that you should ride it to warm it up, just not hard. Something i'm forced to do every morning manouvering down an alley way then down a busy high street.
  22. You can get a honda or yamaha anything 125, for that kinda money. Why get the hysoung? Which as mentioned will depreciate, i've also heard they can be less than reliable, and parts are hard to find.
  23. Been waiting for you to turn up mate!!! Bet you are happy!! I'm actually buzzing with excitment. I want to go and do it right now. I'm not going to sleep now, i'll just be thinking about parked car situations. God Bless the DSA and their incompitence.
  24. Can't quite read the model name in the picture, could you tell us what it is? Could be there a while with just "Hyosung 125"
  25. OH MY GOD! I don't often exclaim such cheesey american crud, but I am SO SO SO Happy. I don't BELEIVE it. I simply, cannot, beleive it, that's so fantasticly brilliantly wonderful, i'm going to phone up tomrorow a book me a good old fashioned test. That's absolutely brilliant. I love this forum, if it weren't for here i'd never have bothered to check and might never have found out.
