1. Be alright, just don't crash, or if you do keep your head off the ground - which would be better for the paint anyway
2. dynax Top show old bean, top show
3. Ahh, classic. Nice of that team to be filming it for you
4. That hasn't stopped us before...
5. Mmm racing lube. I've booked the 750 in for its test on satdey. So of course the horn stopped working... Inside the switch, having removed the bit for the indicator and trying my best not to lose the little screws and springs: https://i.imgur.com/dp1Md7Kl.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> Fiddly bit of soldering with everything dangling but it works again. No wonder it broke, there isn't much strain relief for the wires but as long as it works on Saturday. Everything else seems to work, I'll put the seat back on and away we go.
6. My top tip is to buy shit old bikes and insure them as classics. Mine is about £200 including EU breakdown for about 4 or 5 shitters in the garage. I don't accrue ncb, and they don't discount for it, but if I was to move insurers or sell up and buy something decent and new that they don't cover, would I be able to say I've not had a claim in 5 years and here's my 5years ncb? I'm not sure because I don't really have the magic ncb "certificates". Hmm, bloody insurance.
7. Yes. Not watched wsbk before but that was pretty good. The grid walks are a bit funny though, the way they stop the interviews for the national anthem but then all you can hear is the mass of generators. Most of the time listening to the gennies is probably better than the interviews anyway.
8. Fnar fnar.... What's it like?
9. Ooh I like this. I'm testing work policy whilst being in spoons on call. I mean they have WiFi...
10. My handy local tyre man always says "go steady for the first 100miles", I just laugh... and then don't really go very fast anyway because I'm not a mad man.
11. Not strictly today but the bikes have been calling. But no riding, only a bit of fixing. Well, first a little ride actually to get some bits from the bike shop. https://i.imgur.com/wuUSV9Rl.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> I just wanted some oil, a new plug, fork seals, bit of brake juice but I came back with a light up alarm clock, 6 pack of scholl foot scrub and a soft leather purse (fork seals within). First a simple engine oil change, which I took pictures of because of the almost vaguely interesting lack of a sump bolt hole on this CG engine... https://i.imgur.com/MUtsA9hl.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> Instead you just drain it from the filter cap end. https://i.imgur.com/Ehf9Zwol.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> On to the forks, it might not be completely obvious but the leg on the left here is not just filthy but oily... https://i.imgur.com/4BbpMGYl.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> To be fair the forks have been running without dust seals for some time due to the kit I got years ago from wemoto or the likes having the wrong type. It included an 'innery' type but my legs require the 'overy' type. https://i.imgur.com/EOwjKeKl.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> Anyway let's get them whipped apart. The springs don't come out of the top of the fork on these so you can't just push the stanchions in then rapidly pull them out with a whack, the springs don't let you get in far enough. I think previously I just whacked em against the side of the vice jaws but in the interests of not mullering the top of the soft fork lowers any further I crafted a bit of fine wooden apparatus. https://i.imgur.com/r2anznyl.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> https://i.imgur.com/iRzvPCdl.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> Two or three smashes later and pop goes the weasel. https://i.imgur.com/jCd8HQQl.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'> Awaiting some bushes and some other bits but in the mean time I might have a go at filling the hundreds of pits in the chrome with araldite hmmm...
12. Ha yes heard about that. It'll give him something to do when it all gets a bit much, a nice blast round some twisty london b roads. The heavies can take care of the scooterist bike-jackers for him so no worries there.
13. "Most tenuous motorbike related post of the year! *****" MCN
14. Another fun fact: Tom Cruise followed a MiG 28 doing a 4g inverted dive at a staggering distance of only 2m
15. Oh I just noticed the clear indicators on the front, I retract my thumbs up!
16. Is this to coincide with Top Gun part Deux?
17. They look great. Mate at work had a one like that red un, he sold it but never mentioned the fact to me but I would've been very tempted.
18. Put your leg out when backing it in. See videos of marky markez for tips.
19. Only use the finest Motul™ 5100 semi synthetic motorcycle lubricant. And only use the finest oil filters from HifloFiltro™. Do not listen to anyone else. Get these from your finest eBay™ listing. Oh and definitely do not use car oil, you may upset someone. For the drain plug use an online parts fiche to try and work out ahead of time what size sump washer you will need. Use only the finest fiches on cmsnl™.com. Order a copper washer or a Dowty(™?) washer in the correct size. If you order a copper washer you can reuse it many times by annealing it on your gas hob to make it pliable again, what for aiding the seal making properties of said copper washer. Dowty washers are reusable without the faff of the hob because they have a squishy rubber bit. Either ebay for these or your handy local hydraulics shop. I said eBay for all this but I actually prefer going to my handy local bike shop as its a good laugh and the prices are the same if not better and can cadge a free washer normally if needed. Sorry for putting it down so weirdly I'm bored at work, so close to finishing time but yet not quite there...
20. It's not so much the riding but taking the seat off at any opportunity for me
21. They are legally responsible iirc. But still, keeps things interesting ey.
