XTreme, that's the correct stuff IMHO iirc. If it doesn't say racing on it, or isn't endorsed by the best of the best, the 1% of the upper echelon, MotoGP™ then it isnt even fit for toddler's tricycle. In a pinch if it says something along the lines of "off-road/gripped/sorted" that'll do to get you home.

Haha silly me I just realised it's the same bloody phone box. It was strewn inside with tacky bunting for whatever I'm guessing is Welsh for happy birthday/merry Christmas. Lovely bit of road round them parts.
-
Haha! Yes! There's loads of them. Thanks Bob. This is turning out quite nicely. Just need the chain to f**k off on me or a push rod to get fired out now. But no chance of that, it's a Honda cbg, "it'll gu for-iver". Hmmm

Oooh a green sign. Not one of them two a penny blue signs. Basically I think it is saying "please be nice to each other" "don't lay traps, don't scare the horses" etc. Interesting. Lovely green sign - for a proper green lane perhaps? Hmm this looks promising. Better stop to take on some cheese, percy pigs and have a wee. Interesting Just go through. It's hardly a road anyway really. (it actually wasn't very closed at all) Even had a road closed, which wasn't actually Fords. So many fords. This was steeper and much chomblier umbombely underfoot than it looks. The good stuff has been located. Another ford My kick-start mechanism had a disagreement with the amount of pounding it was taking over the rocks and decided to have a wobbler. Interesting. The lever was still up but the pawl was ratcheting like a good un, interesting. Even the internals don't like this. Sorted by stopping and starting again... Onwards. Ahh. After making it up a bit with very sharp lookin rocks I was greated by a felled tree in the way and a diversion to the left. Well bugger. I had a bit of a go, but after going nose into the mud I had some very boring, very sober and excuseful thoughts such as: this is quite far from home, the BOAT actually looks very long on the map, including not just a fording but actually an upstream rivering, the ME22 tyres aren't even good in the wet nevermind mud, I've one piece of cheese left and 3 sips of water, it's too hot in the long John's especially after pushing the thing backwards out of the mud, time is marching on and the onset of darkness and hunger is near, there's no signal so how can I post my distress if it gets worse... Etc. Hidden gulley of mud. I am staying another day though... Hmm... Back home to my new pal

Proper DRZ territory. Hmmm. Well. It's not all been green lanes of course. Though a few "sneaky" (nothing saying you can't, nothing saying you can, but marked on the map as a nice short cut) gate openings, but they were all put back with the same Ray Mears no. 7 bail-a-band knot and nobody was hurt so... But yes, lots of twisty bits in mid Wales. Glad I gave it a chance now. I'm staying another night, thanks Fran, she doesn't mind. Might need a run up Such great brakes. Scenic, really quite nice. Not a lot on the roads at all. One or two big ktm types two up and the like and a few pickup trucks. Where we goin? Hmmm is this a good sign of things to come? "born to ride" - horses? Bikes? 'crossers? It ended up being an OK sign. Not a great sign, not a bad sign. Pretty good sign if you like forestry twisties but where are they hiding the great BOATs? So many red phone boxes. Everywhere, I found one in a hedgerow once...

Long John's on and it's BOAT fever. Don't stop Probably shouldn't have stopped here neither I wonder where they keep the good stuff
-
Well yes another beer was had, I think that must make it so then, as new case law as ruled by you the judge. Where to today? A bit of r&r in the gardens or bugger off to Port Talbot and back just to see? Hmm or find some little lanes to piss about on

Cheers bonio, it could well have been a disaster if not. Feeling posh here. The owner sells meats, she said I could buy half an animal if wanted but I didn't have it in me. I have a question though for you, if you have a can of condensed soup (with your spam) that "makes up to double" but just leave it as thick slop, does it count as having consumed 2 soups?
-
Hmm well I dove into Wales from near the top and headed West into Anglesey and then sorted of headed south towards this place middle westish.
-
No need to worry, it won't be very historic. There's a number 6 bus parked up next to it with a compost toilet at the back. Still, it shouldn't hurt the grass too much in a raised pit. But otherwise yes I'd agree with you there

It felt very familiar today, couldn't take many pictures but it all felt a bit like being in Germany. The windy sweepers that follow the river. The twisty bits in the woods. The criss cross bridges over the river. The smell of logging in the woods. The road works in random bits of a twisty section. Road works on a nice road Hmmm... Umleitung! Petrol and water stop at a very clean petrol station Wee wee too, of course Hmmm.... It was a dead end anyway... ... Hmmm no this isn't familiar.

Well that's a bit more proper camping than this. But I have got a fire going within the henge now. Toasty with a Tripel Karmeliet in hand. Down to the farm past this very barky but friendly thing Had to ride up some steps to get to henge field What's this about wet Wales somebody mentioned? (Bungleaio ahem). It's been dry nearly all along! I haven't actually dared look at the forecast once this whole time. It will probably rain tomorrow. I did have to change gloves earlier. Hmm. It's not the continent but some of it is very familiar, like being back in the Eifle...

Not had much signal or time to update. Been a busy day. Currently up a hill in don't know where, in midddle of nowhere in mid Wales with a bottle of Vedett and some waitrose crisps. It's about to get dark and I need to get back down to my tent and stead set up next to a stone henge, in my poolsliders. There is sign of sheeps having been here

What happened to the Russian mother from mother Russia? Is she expecting you back by Sunday?

I'm not sure what you mean but it's certainly not Ceska Rupublika!

Fettled the chain. It really is abused under that fulsome cover. Racing lube only for this one Checked the valves (wer fine) So accessible Then off to Wales to see the tidy mountains and stunning birds cause I'm not a ****.

That all sounds good to me. Especially the busman's holiday bit at the end there. Isn't Wales meant to be full of [strikeout]OFF ROAD[/strikeout] byways open to all traffic?

Haha well. Monday was a bit slower to progress... But now, I have made it across the border. The sheep are behind me. The CG I've had forever. Bit of a trigger's broom really. Bought it off a guy and his brother in Rossington, which explains a lot if you know the place, but doesn't explain why I stupidly went ahead and bought it off them. Piston was in backwards, no oil to the head (full of rtv silicone stuff). No petrol in the tank, well enough to get me 3 miles away. But it's lovely now, it's got a proper Japanese engine (once again) with 4 gears in race shift pattern. Brakes don't work really but it passes the test. It's plodded on and got me here to Ruthin. Fancy camp site (actually country club spa.. . ) almost to me sen, all set up and then off to the closest offy for some "ice cold" bottles (got an erdinger to try and pretend) and then a really good chip shop. Sorted. Apart from nearly getting lost on the way back, but managed to avoid going to gaol which is signposted everywhere, everybody must like going to the Ruthin gaol. But made it back and the chips stayed warm and didn't get soggy. Where to go next?

This sounds like a real classic. I don't have much to add but I am enjoying the saga. Talking to the high and mighty dvla is a right game. Somehow they backed down on requiring me to pay for a new v5 once, which I'd never received after getting my first car. After many phone calls they sort of quietly realised it was just an error in the address, a simple mistake which could've been my bad handwriting or their fat fingers, house number 78 which doesn't exist, instead of 28. I only found out for sure at tax renewal time because the postman guessed the correct letterbox to jam it through. They'd refused for ages to do anything about it, well a whole year nearly. I think I just eventually dropped on getting hold of someone in a half decent mood. There was a more recent time where I hadn't received a couple of v5's back and I did pay the £25 each to get replacements, I wasn't in the same mindset and didn't put up much of a fight. We couldn't quite work out what was going on. They couldn't decide if they had received my letter with the details of the engine/frame swap or if I just hadn't received my new ones they'd sent out. I had no proof of delivery (never again will I send them anything unrecorded) and yet they didn't have proof of delivery to me either, of course it must therefore be me never sending them anything. I payed through gritted teeth and they came back updated with the swap details (which actually I think they even got slightly wrong but I darent re-raise the issue). They can't have sent me anything first time round, they come separate - maybe I could uselessly misplace 1 but not 2. Dealing with them is quite comical if you like that sort of thing. Of course your situation is much more interesting.

... Yes does she not know the controversy of dark siding? She'll mess up the handling For me, Mad max for both please. Falcon XB with exhausts out the side.. I always wanted the kids bike in terminator when I wasn't so old. Well, I still wouldn't mind a 2stroke dirt bike for nipping to the arcades on. Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrnnng rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrng rrrrrrr
