  1. I paid £90 for mine ....340 lm.. from aldi .. probably lot less than your phone ...... I take it you`ve never actually used or owned a dedicated sat-nav then.
  2. the sat-nav comes with life time map updates a holder that is both sleek and functional.... in this is a software package that will plan and store uber complicated routes and waypoints interchangeable with anyone online usin sat-nav software .. it does what it says on the box.. I have tried phones .. and they were slow and lost the signal .. overly complicated on route planning with limited functionality.. what sat-nav have you owned and or tried ?
  3. Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Into a bitchfest maelstrom .. dare say you`ve been there before and could do so again .. but honestly can you be bothered .. is there a void in your life to fill .. cos this is gonna need some space in your life... other wise fit you flack jacket
  4. I got my last motorbike garmin from aldi .. £90 iirc.. they must be due another tranche soon... you get all the bits with them aswell and they are waterproof.
  5. We went to the Lakes today 29.04.2017.. Round Coniston & Kirkstone .. A a dry day if overcast and it chilled off rapidly afternoon .. some random jpg.s of the day http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab232/copycat73/30%20April%202017/GOPR0193.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab232/copycat73/30%20April%202017/GOPR0224.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab232/copycat73/30%20April%202017/GOPR0258.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab232/copycat73/30%20April%202017/GOPR0407.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab232/copycat73/30%20April%202017/GOPR0420.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab232/copycat73/30%20April%202017/GOPR0501.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab232/copycat73/30%20April%202017/GOPR0524.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab232/copycat73/30%20April%202017/GOPR0921.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab232/copycat73/30%20April%202017/GOPR1173.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab232/copycat73/30%20April%202017/GOPR1188.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab232/copycat73/30%20April%202017/GOPR1473.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab232/copycat73/30%20April%202017/GOPR1606.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab232/copycat73/30%20April%202017/GOPR1642.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab232/copycat73/30%20April%202017/GOPR1647.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab232/copycat73/30%20April%202017/GOPR2157.jpg

    My MT09

i had the Budget suspension setting up & down the range and it still wollowed round corners and bounced inbetween .. Budget is budget .. the torque was unpredictable and too keen to spin up the back wheel ... I fitted the throttle tamer to the 02 sensor .... filled down the lobe on the throttle grip and adjusted the TPS position as far back as it would go .. takin up any slack in the cables by the adjustor.. the ECU was flashed by Yamaha.. " power delivery is handled by mode B " .... not really and use of the clutch .. and this is not a problem ? ... I`ll stick to IL4 s .. thank you. caveat - off road types

    My MT09

I lasted 6 months with mine .. absolutely detested the fcukin thing .. soft bouncy budget suspension and a horrible power delivery
  8. aldi have offers on time to time .. garmine mostly and with life time updates .. we have bought ours from there.. here is the latest https://www.aldi.co.uk/garmin-nuvi-58-lmt-sat-nav/p/074171106239500 a basic sat nav .. there will be more to follow..
  9. but do you have Bars and eateries with in walkin distance ?
  10. I did the tour guide tour the first trip.. but it had been 28 years since I`d been on the wrong side of the road.. a 500 mile trip around france ww1 cemeteries went a long way to sortin that problem out.... the group we went with was a mixed bag of allsorts .. some good , bad , ugly and idiots .. to keep control the trips had to be regimented .. not to my likin.. any group over 4 gets hard work anyway.. now we organise amongst ourselves.. takin turns at leadin & pickin routes .. I book the ferry others sort the accommodation.. most idears come from forum members and recommendations where ,when and how to stay .. But I don`t do campin cos its grotty and uncomfortable and the weight+ bulk on the bike is unwelcome and irritating.. sorry but any advertising will go straight over my head...
  11. i do not have a particularly high regard for him anyway ... frankly TV. is humdrum ..
  12. well darling not much can be done to cure one of those
  13. there are sections of the retail center car park which frankly no body uses due to their location.. I use them to park my Van and regularly take up two spaces ...nothin ever said.. my point bein .. there are times and places where you can do this and its no big deal.
  14. they stay put in one place and pay it off .. don`t pi$$ it against the wall and watch quietly while others fly all over the place and join the housin ladder late or have to rent.. still quiet whilst they bitch about house prices risin whilst been away.. sat in the newest kit available to go off on the pi$$ to the match....

    Touring tips

OK... I`ve added it to one of my routes .. I had noticed it but dismissed it as uninteresting .. its 68 miles from a stop over .. NB... part of this road has a toll of €5.50 for 1 rider and a bike. Tyrol to Timmelsjoch rtn..gpx Tyrol to Timmelsjoch rtn.

    Touring tips

    any particular reason ?
  17. there there petal .. have a nice cup of tea and chocolate biscuits calm your nerves .. the world is full of contemptible idiots and sooner or later you was gonna come into contact with one ..
  18. it has a very high viscosity ... well the stuff I`ve had occasion to see/use .. which frankly would suck the life from a motorbike engine...
  19. from what I`ve seen / read I`m under the assumption that initially the oil is well up to the job; Castrol gtx in my case; of lubricating the gear box but that it degrades a lot quicker than a dedicated gear oil sae80 or similar .. the answer bein a more frequent oil changing schedule 3- 4k miles ..
  20. both sides of this argument are very firmly entrenched in their respective positions and neither will give ground .. but yes .. you are correct.. a can of worms..
  21. I have used Castrol GTX in all my bikes including ZZR14 20k miles & 5 years and R1 36k miles & 10 years without any problems what so ever ..
  22. well that's the system used in Germany and iirc. many other Euro member states..
  23. my trainin days were before DAS and ended 31:12:96 as it ( DAS ) came in 01.01.97 as I did not have my "ticket" to do that .. and frankly the work "fell off a cliff" in the new year and I went onto other things.. and anyway his business was floundering... was taught to command my road position .. basically whenever possible stay in the middle of the lane.. this I sort of recognise ..especially the over takin positioning on bends ... but its some thing I`ve picked up myself and not just from motorcycles .. more to do with HGV/PSV I`m gonna pass on that one ... I kinda just do .. and don`t consciously analyse what or why.. that bike would do 90 mph .. it struggled to get there .. I would be hangin on for dear life and it would weave across the whole lane .. something I did only half a dozen times in 14years.. the "problem is sorted" I got rid and bought bikes in the 1 litre IL4 class ..because they are easy to ride.. there are two types of bikers .. those who have HAD that accident and those who have not .. I`ve had mine and I`m still too slow through parked cars... especially white fiat uno (s) I am not dismissive of further training .. for some it will be the bees knees .. I followed the best advice of the day and jumped through the hoops I was shown .. time & money investment and got nothing in return .. that was nearly 19 years ago ontop of the 14 years bikin prior to that.. since then I have "crafted my art" and I`m still here in one piece .. Frankly i`m done with Training either givin or receiving... and no ffence to those that provide it thank you .....
  24. you know the instructor went through these things with me at the time .. and in better detail because he was there .....the test route included much of where the instructor took me .. I took on board what he said and passed the test shortly afterwards ...
