  1. been there .. done that .. got the certificate .. i learnt nothing new..
  2. the price tagg for the 24 000 service on a ZZR1400 is gonna knock you £500 - £600 .. having just done one myself its the work involved getting to the top end that takes the time .. it wants a throttle body synchronization & steering head bearings re-grease too.
  3. that market is saturated .. most do not want to pay a premium for something they can organise themselves....
  4. i have ..to date 114 MB (120,296,294 bytes) worth ... but i`m always on the look-out for material or ideas to plagiarize...
  5. any gpx. or .gdb floating around i`ll have a copy
  6. if there was a market for this sort of service then there would be more companies doing it ... i cannot think of any Private hire or Hackney carriage motorcycle providers .. can you ?
  7. Thanks ... i`m gonna bookmark the hotel .. i`m always on the look-out for suitable accommodation .. and Sauerkraut .. i can eat some but i prefer krautsalat .. otherwise German cuisine is fine .. They do tend to eat a lot of schweinefleisch though.. Exchange rate .. yeah .. tell me about it .. five years ago we got somewhere near 1.4 euro to the pound .. now its 1.06 euro to the pound .. still i`m hopeful to be returning.. using the Tunnel and not travelling quite as far into the euro zone should help..
  8. do you have a web. link for the hotel In Neuerburg ?
  9. its more of an Enduro / MX issue .. common to all manufactures because of suspension requirements...
  10. you`ll be lucky to find a clean 2nd hand item .. these things are bought by off roaders .. seriously tryin to explain to a numpty that i don`t want to do the north face of the eiger on one was a pain .. 3 times .. if you use it for road and little else it will be fine ... but they do have little niggles which need keepin on top of .. it is not japanese and cannot be neglected as such...
  11. nope .. Van is way easier than a trailer .. and i`ve done plenty of both..
  12. I have a Husqvarna .. 701 Enduro .. its fitted with a KTM motor … its the oil spec that's the issue .. its expensive because its an odd weight and fully synthetic … 10W50 API SN Fully Synthetic Ester … from Halfords or my local dealer .. £35-40 for 4 litres … road use I change once a year .. yours I would double that.. PS.. the rest of the maintenance schedule will be a pain .. in particular the valve clearances intervals ..
  13. i do this regular .. 370 miles to the Eurotunnel .. but we stop over in luton .. frankly the cost of tunnel makes it viable .. usually limit the days millage to 250 miles... no hassle at borders but be aware that anything over 2.8t may get stopped .... the ability to take equipment for the bike and clothing is an added bonus .. as is bringing back booz .. it is absolutely quicker in a van your average speed will be higher longer fuel stops ;450 miles; much less fatigue and carrying your own food and drink greatly helps...
  14. Helpful ... real helpful ... I would put a semi synthetic of the correct spec. oil in .. of whatever takes your fancy ...
  15. These types of comments should be banned from this forum. We’re all bikers here, not the HSE haha! i would ban benign prosaicness comments too..
  16. Oh , that's a funny looking bike . What's it supposed to be then ? It doesn't look very off road capable and those tyres look unsuited to road riding. The front mudguard looks to be a mere decoration and the whole arse end is just missing.
  17. it needs looking after or yes little things will break.. nope .. but the oil is extremely high spec. at £40 for 4 litres look..... google the on line bike specific forums and look there .. you will find answers to your questions there .. every donkey and its dog will answer here but most are clueless as the are only repeating crap they have recycled from elsewhere.
  18. That would be the auto de-compression mechanism on the camshaft.. likely a pre 18 bike ..
  19. I have a 701 .. they are "brittle" and take a lot of looking after.. high quality oil & service parts..
  20. i bought a pair of those reinforced jeans from Aldi and fitted some RST hip protectors .. easily withstood a 40mph slide ..
  21. I think he means the secondary butterflies in the inlet tract. I read somewhere that removing them improves the midrange but screws the environmental compliance. nope .. the secondary flies are there to stop peeps killing themselves in the lower revs and gears from the set off ..that is rear wheel spin and puttin the bike down the road ... The ECU flash sorts out the fueling .. the closed loop included .. below 3000 - 4000 revs .. there are no gains anywhere else .. but the bike becomes a lot more responsive to the throttle openings .. .. however if you want a smooth operation then you must be smooth with the throttle operation .. frankly your better off with a dedicated forum as it's clear that nobody here has any experience of this issue ....lots and lots about it here and where to go to have it sorted http://www.zx14r.co.uk/phpBB3/ PS.. doing what i said resolved the exact same issue with my 2008 ..
  22. they are all like that ..its the secondary flies ... you need an ECU flash and some remove said flies ..
