  1. Fifth result on image search! http://weknowmemes.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/on-second-thought-lets-not-go-to-facebook.jpg
  2. Have fun! I found that the clutch control just came with time on the bike - never focused on it specifically, it's just part and parcel of normal riding.
  3. Which edition of Motorcycle Roadcraft would you recommend for a new rider? Some reviews on Amazon of the 2013 edition seem pretty critical, both on bike-specific content and also the unedited copying and pasting from the car version.
  4. Don't know how this normally works, but anyone in the East Midlands fancy meeting up one (dry) Sat or Sun in late Jan to tick off a few from the list? Haven't even got a bike yet, but am already keen to find reasons for going out, and would be nice to meet some of you lot too!
  5. I really like my HJC IS-Max II, but the sun visor doesn't seem dark enough - haven't found anywhere that does replacements yet though. look on the hjc uk website they sell them on there Cheers - I did look there but thought I'd only seen replacements rather than a variety of tints.

  7. Open it ... With pics But i don't wanna start with christmas Next i'll be sending cards and wishing happy holidays... Well you have it now, so may as well open it. Never know, a sink full of glitter might be just the thing to get you in the spirit!
  8. I did take photos but, for shame, not of the beautifully wrapped exterior. So, cutting to the chase, here's what Santa delivered for me: http://i.imgur.com/kLdinC3.jpg http://i.imgur.com/0hZd3T0.jpg http://i.imgur.com/iaAEq6D.jpg A brilliant present! I don't really have any tools in a format I could leave under a seat or in a top box, so this is a perfect present for a previously poorly-equipped novice rider! Thank you Santa, this is a very thoughtful gift, and all the more so for me being a newbie to the forum. Very touched. I'm all the more grateful it wasn't a random engine part, an over-torquing torque wrench or a box full of glitter!
  9. Merry Christmas one and all. Thanks for all the help, and I'm looking forward to getting a bike and hopefully meeting some of you in due course! Keen on the 2017 UK challenge already!
  10. I get annoyed just receiving cards with glitter on them!
  11. I think that if you have that anti-glare coating on your lenses, washing up liquid will take it off much quicker than it normally lasts.
  12. Cheers all - not sounding like the most sensible option then!
  13. Now I know that hi-vis stuff is for low-light conditions, and usually has broad reflective strips too, but at night it's all about lights and reflectivity for increasing visibility. So, what do you guys think about these fully reflective jackets? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191757568458 I see increasing numbers of cyclists wearing stuff like this, and they really stand out, so I'd pondered buying a cheap XXL one to wear over my textile jacket at night. Reckon it'd be worthwhile?
  14. Without wishing to hijack the thread, should you normally replace chain and both sprockets at the same time?
  15. Received mine too, but not sure when to open it as I'm away over Christmas itself!
  16. Red line ktm in loughborough weren't worried, and i think len manchester yamaha in melton if you're interested. Awesome, cheers.
  17. Cheers all! Congratulations! Have you decided what bike to get? No, not set on any specific bike yet. However I think CMC are one of the few places that will let newly qualified riders do test rides, so will hopefully book in something with them shortly. Probably get something after Christmas now I reckon.
  18. Woo hoo - Mod 2 passed this afternoon! Instructor came out in the ride too, which I found quite comforting, and was at my request when he said it was an option. Really pleased, and celebrating at the work Christmas do tonight!
  19. I definitely want to, but the 11th is the wife's birthday! I'm only in Notts, so could hopefully make it along for at least a bit, but the whole thing might be pushing my luck!
  20. Ah, I see. Mine certainly feels very robust, so am not currently concerned. The clamps certainly have some force in them!
  21. Sounds like a philosophy I can get behind. Where do we vote?
  22. I did buy a trouser hanger from them, which seems impressively sturdy! How'd you break one?!
  23. Hold on there dear boy, us Pastafarians call this time of year "Holiday" - a special time of year when we enjoy the sacred trio of pasta, beer and sex care workers. All hail his noodley appendage.
  24. I was going to get one of the bikertidy options, but ended up building this instead: http://i.imgur.com/0osdOMl.jpg A little cheaper, but more options.
