Looking for thoughts on CBT situation
Northern Biker replied to Daryl's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Well done on passing your CBT! Echoing what has already been said, now the pressure is off go get yourself a bike and build up your confidence bit by bit on the road, stay local for a while until you feel comfortable venturing further out or find a quiet car park to hone your new skillz [emoji106] -

Excellent google-fu [emoji106] The one with a cracked top seems clean enough and unmolested, just swap it with yours as JRH suggested [emoji106] -
Temporary insurance for mod 2

Have you tried tempcover or dayinsure? Not sure if those are just for cars though. -

Why bodge it? If you want it to run properly get the correct carb for the bike. -

That carb looks paggered mate, i'd be surprised if you can get that mixture screw out without damaging the carb. Looks like it's been screwed right in as tight as possible and it's snapped the head off. It's only a brass screw, so very soft metal and easily damaged. Also it looks as though the TPS has been messed with, it has 2 different screws and both of them have been butchered. You don't know who has done what to that carb so i'd be looking for another second hand one if it was my bike. The way the bike revs better when the choke is on suggests your problems are fuel related (weak mixture) but the choke will be sooting up your plug, so a good second hand carb could go a long way to fixing it. -

Clothing Sizes
Northern Biker replied to Scholesfan's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I'm usually a 2XL but my biking gear is 5XL. That's just how it is for some reason. Don't worry about the sizes, the clothing could save your life one day -
I'll be there [emoji106]

Looks like the securing bracket for your flexi hose is missing.

Good luck again, take it easy this time! -
Is the bike under warranty? Good news you seem to have it sorted, but the dealer sounds a bit of a dick if I'm being honest. Shouldn't be asking you for a penny in parts or labour to fix a faulty new bike you bought from him, should have warranty [emoji106]
-
As said, 100% dealers problem. Tell them to come and collect your ornament and sort it out as the bike isn't fit for purpose. Put the old battery back on and return the new one you bought, I assume you kept the reciept? Or tell the dealer you want reimbursing for that too. Good luck.

Second hand engine is the way I'd go. Are you any good operating a spanner? Not fancy giving it a go yourself? Maybe ask around here, there's bound to be someone close by that would help you in return for bacon butties and a few beers.
