known issue, can be two things, carb icing(even in nice weather, not just winter), and wind shear across the ram air. If its bad in side winds, its wind shear, if its all the time, Id try a fuel additive, or super unleaded for a tankfull. see if it improves. Cheap supermarket fuel can be a beggar for it. Just one thing to check, ensure the ramair pressure pipe(the little black ones that plumb into the raimair ducts then(I think) possibly T together, and head back to the carbs to pressurise the cv chambers, are fully plumbed in, clipped on, and no leaks. If they are left off, the carbs refuse to work at speed, but if split slightly, they can lead to all manner of hunting and surging at slight speeds.

dont forget scoots spend most of the day flat out, Id guess 50-100mpg depending on how crazy you get on the gas. As you are getting about 45mpg, Id say maybe recent carb mods have done you a dis-service. What did you do to it?

Dramatically improved brake pressure. They sometimes feel a little wooden, as they make the lever feel very hard when properly bled, but really improve braking. As far as cost goes, Id sooner buy goodridge than hel. Simply because goodridge have been around for a 'hel' of a lot longer. Ive always made my own, bits sourced from local hydraulics supplier, but to be fair, its nearly as cheap to buy em ready made.

As I only found this forum after Bulli mentioned the first aid thing, and you guys seem a nice, mixed bundle of fun, is it ok if I mention this thread on another site I go on. It seems very worthwile thing(which we could have used about 2 weeks ago eh Bulli) and if numbers are a little poor at the moment, maybe some other forum members may be interested.
