  1. Bad luck, law of averages means it happens to everybody eventually At least it wasn't your road bike and you walked away
  2. Whereabouts was this (out of interest) ? 70 in a 60 is a bit keen
  3. Cool, can you recommend any other good routes. I've done some of the West side up to Ullapool before but not much futher North or East.
  4. where about near inverness ?? lot's of nice roads up there Nairn I believe.
  5. I'm going May 21st - 24th staying in a caravan close to Inverness, might be a space if anyone's interested.
  6. I've had poor dealings with Blacks on Ebay too. I purchased a shock linkage based on the photo but when it arrived it was from a different model. I phoned them to explain the discrepancy and described exactly what I required. The linkage was returned to them at my expense, they then sent me another linkage within a few days. On receipt, the linkage again was incorrect, yet again I returned the linkage and requested a complete refund as it was clear they never actually had the correct part. Despite emails via Ebay etc. nothing happend until I raised a Pay Pal dispute. To their credit, they then phoned me immediately and offered me a full refund including compensation to cover my postage costs. I wouldn't deal with them again.
  7. Can't you take the battery off your road bike The seat situation sounds fishy, Louth bikes must have contacted the police themselves. Surely one would expect the police would want to ask you a few questions
  8. Braided lines improve feel at the lever as all the pressure is transmitted to the caliper instead of expanding old rubber hoses, braking performance won't necessarily be improved but it does no harm. TBH better results are obtained by giving the calipers a good overhaul by replacing the seals.
  9. Check valve clearance and timing as mentioned. Could be gummed up oil ring if it's been stood otherwise valve stem oil seals and/or guides but unlikely at that mileage. Borrow a compression tester to check the combustion chamber for leaks.
  10. Think it's only on Saturday.
  11. Weather forecast is bad so it won't exactly be buzzing.
  12. You should set the rider sag to use approx. 1/3 of the shock and forks total travel. The preload settings for one up and two up riding will be different, you could compromise by setting the preload midway but it won't be optimised for either then. You may also need to increase compression damping when riding two up to help prevent the shock/forks bottoming out. If the shock still bottoms out after increasing the preload, you'll need to lose weight and/or fit a stiffer spring.
  13. He was never gonna make Coppice on that line but lucky not to take anyone out and stay on the bike. I've eaten dirt there after being punted off by a guy trying something similar
  14. I live in Lincoln but have never heard of them, have you got an address ?
  15. Great weather and good video but you need to work on hitting them apexes
  16. I might see you at the woods, WP
  17. £6 What they for then
  18. Take the first lap very steadily to sight the damp/frost patches then progressively up your pace but not braking or accelerating too hard for the first two laps. The tyres will be warm enough by the 3rd lap to ride a bit harder but still beware of the cooler damp patches around the Hairpin and Barn in particular. If its wet, treat it as if you're riding on ice because you won't be far off on road tyres in these temps.
  19. Here's the pics from our rideout Squires Squires Seaways
  20. Good day today except for the very slippery A15 where 3 cars and one bike ended up skidding off the road Don't mind the cold but please no more ice
  21. Will meet you at the bridge Craig
  22. Mine has been fine until recently. It's just a case of regularly checking and cleaning the inline filter.
  23. Why not ? Then Seaways and the TT if we can fit it in
