Check the disc/hub mating surface for corrosion. Disc tolerance is usually upto 0.3mm and therefore shouldn't fail a brake test. It is usually the carrier that warps not the disc so refinishing wouldn't work. ST Motorcycles at Foston can retrue discs, £50/pair typically.

Wales Rideout Sun 21st July 2013
Revvin Kevin posted a topic in Midlands & Lincs ride outs and meets
It could be the last good rideout day of summer , so I'm planning a route around Wales this Sunday stopping off at all the popular biker cafes enroute. These include Ponderosa (Llangollen), PJ's (Aberystwyth), West End Cafe (Llandovery) and the Oasis Snack Bar (Abergavenny). I'm planning to leave from Damons (A46/B1190 junction), in Lincoln for 8am prompt. If anyone wants to join me, meet at Damons for 8am or meet enroute, (see map for the planned route). Let me know if you are coming along http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/9002/lh8n.th.jpg -

Textiles are best for touring, should be able to find something suitable at a reasonable price. -

Yes mate Got anything in mind? Nothing specific but we have lots of options....depends what you are into? I'm easy, like nice roads, scenery and don't mind a few miles -

Last week we were returning from Stranraer along the A75, there was a high police presence due to bikers travelling to the NW200. Two marked police motorcyclists pulled into the road ahead of us and were travelling together towards Dumfries. After a few miles we caught them up due to traffic and solid white lines. Once clear we followed the police maintaining a reasonable distance. As we weren't going to be able to overtake them, I was interested to see what their cruising speed would be. On the single carriageway sections they were cruising around 70 - 80MPH but did hit 90MPH on a few occasions during overtakes. They didn't seem to mind us matching their speed and we even had a little chat with them when stopped at some roadworks. However what I found surprising was some of their overtakes, which on occasion appeared rushed and poorly executed. There were a number of occasions where they executed an overtake on blind bends into the path of oncoming traffic causing the vehicles to veer towards the verge. If you or I did that, the drivers would flash their lights and indicate their annoyance with their hands. It appeared the police were using their highly visible presence to force their way through and intimidate drivers to move over. Perhaps this is how they are trained to behave when on a job but surely they shouldn't ride that way when simply cruising back to the station.

Kawasaki recommend oil changes roughly every 3.5k - 4k miles. I've started to change mine every 10k instead. Just consider how many bikes you find with high mileage, worn out engines, not many. Most are written off way before the engine wears out from extended oil changes. If you like trackdays however, use good quality oil and change as often as you can afford to.

The Welsh National Rally is held on Sat May 11th this year. A brilliant way to see Wales Me and a mate toured the Highlands this February, no need to wait for summer

Good idea Would be a bit of a detour for me though. Fortunatley I can get there and back on 1/2 tank lucky you!! IF i was on bike it would take me atleast 2 fill ups!! these V twins are thirsty tw*ts but its way too cold for two wheels car all the way for me at this time of the year Shame, mince pies at Easter doesn't really work does it

Nice one, thanks for that -
Electric impact wrench is the way to go or ask your local car mechanic to crack it so you can remove it at home.

Best winter bike gear?
Revvin Kevin replied to donhuzayfa's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Heated waistcoat and gloves are the way to go whichever jacket you decide on. Bubble wrap stuffed down your jacket also works wonders -

There may be a few going from the Lincoln area -
Bought one three years ago as a winter bike, love it It's a great scratcher, tourer, trackday bike and even quite good two up. My ZX10R wasn't getting used so I sold it but kept the 636, it's all you need

We were there last month, awesome roads and scenery, enjoy
