Might be interested, have you got a decent route planned, it's not the A1 all the way down is it

There's rideouts virtually every weekend at http://www.lincsrideouts.co.uk come and join us

Although Brands Hatch is a long way to travel for me, I think it would make a great, entertaining venue for MOTOGP.

Hate Silverstone, lacks character and they WILL put the prices up, bad move On the plus side it gives us an excuse for a trip to a foreign MOTOGP round

Anyone taking bets yet, wouldn't mind a punt in Bayliss

Thinking of a long ride in summer....
Revvin Kevin replied to stelmer's topic in Yorkshire ride outs and meets
From experience it's best not to pin it on a specific date as we all know how predictable the weather is. Although not ideal from a planning point of view, it would be better for it to take place on the first nice Sunday of March or April for example. Personally, as long as it isn't pi**ing down I'm happy any time -
I'll go for Baylis to win, the R1 is brand new and undeveloped, they have a lot of work to do to get it upto speed and make the tyres last. Will be interesting to see how the R1 performs in pre season testing. If it's on the pace then Rossi might stand a chance.

I'm up for it, how many sleeps will it be -
You may hear slight rubbing but it shouldn't bind.

Air will travel up the hose to the master cylinder and can be bled at the top banyo bolt and it can help to tie the lever back overnight but there are lots of places where the air can be trapped within the calipers. Depends how much air is left in there and where so the best option is to re-bleed the whole system.
-
Easiest way to bleed your brakes is to attach a shringe and pipe to your bleed nipple, top up the reservoir, crack open the nipple a little and suck the air/fluid out using the shringe. Once you've started to get pressure at the lever, you can continue to bleed the brakes in the conventional manner. Sometimes cracking the banyo bolt at the master cylinder and caliper can speed things up but can be messy so make you you use clothes to soak up any spillage.

How does he know it works , perhaps he's just been lucky......up to now Police can enhance the photos and they can reveal your reg plate. Is it really worth the risk If you do get caught obscuring your plate in this way, the fine will be many times greater than the possible 3 - 6 points on your licence if do happen to get snapped by a camera.
-
Do you have pressure at the lever or is it spongy? If it's spongy you still have air in the line and will need more bleeding. If the brakes are dragging then although you have cleaned/greased the calipers, the piston seal grooves are probably corroded causing the seals to bind on the pistons preventing them from returning. Full strip and new seals reqd.

I was thinking of getting some made, (not the DIY ones) but you need to get them redone every 2 years or so, (because your ears change shape with age) It actually works out cheaper to buy a load of disposable ear plugs in bulk and throw them away once a week. The plugs I use, (orange MAX ones), also appear to have a slightly better SNR than custom plugs

I like riding this time of year as long as it's not icy Usually try not to ride when it's above 5 Deg as there's less chance of slippery surfaces especially after a frost. Can be fun as long as you realise you can't ride as hard as summertime and keep it smoothe. The roads are also quieter and there's less plod The salt isn't a problem as long as you prep your bike properly with ACF or FS365 and keep the chain lubed.

Contrary to popular belief, rebound damping has more influence on comfort than compression so try backing that off a few clicks first, not too much at a time though. As said, ensure your sag is correct, if you can't set the correct sag you will need softer springs.

I've got the EDZ 1 piece and wear it all the time, it won't keep you warm on its own, especially if your leathers are perforated but it's better than nothing. I would be interested if the cold killers perform any better.
