  1. Since i've not yet met many on here, apart from Rosie and Vikki, who are we looking for in the carpark, is it someone wearing a pink carnation
  2. Don't bother with DOT 5, DOT 4 is all you need, I use competition DOT 4 fluid and it's fine
  3. You're supposed to change it every two years as it absorbs moisture and other contaminants from the braking system reducing the effectiveness and boiling point of the fluid. TBH if your brakes are working fne and you're not experiencing any brake fade, excessive lever travel or spongyness don't worry about it too much. However fluid is relatively cheap as you don't require much and it's easy to change too so it wouldn't hurt if you really wanted to change it.
  4. Depends how much work you could do yourself ? A dealer would probably charge upto £400 at least.
  5. Don't like it but suppose we will get used to it after a few rounds.
  6. Valve stem seals/guides or rings, depends if there's any smoke when it's cold or on the overun when shutting off after accelerating. You're probably looking at a topend rebuild and new rings while you're at it. How many miles on the clock ?
  7. Yep, did the Silver Daytime Rally last year for the first time and really enjoyed it. Definately planning to do this year too and would like to do a few more miles but not sure I fancy riding all night ?
  8. I haven't watched all of last years races yet, can't wait for the new season though
  9. Oulton and Cadwell are probably the countries two most tachnically challenging circuits to ride. I love both but it tends to rain less at Cadwell
  10. If you've got a owners manual, it will give you the service intervals in there. However with an unknown history, you would be at least advised to cover everything reqd. during a major service.
  11. You could do them all if you have the right tools for the job and reasonably competent machincally speaking. If not you would be best to leave the head bearings, valve clearance checks and carb balance to a dealer.
  12. Valve clearances, head bearings, suspension linkages, fork oil and carb/throttle body sync.
  13. Hasn't this weekend been cancelled due to snow
  14. Never heard of that being done before, I'm surprised there aren't any insurance liability implications I'll pop over if it's dry, can I have a go for a tenner yep...got the email from nolimits who say as the bike only going out ones then they only charge for one place, the 5 quid admin fee covers putting another rider on insurance. paid today, so me and my bro will be getting some air on the mountain That's worth knowing, cheers. Have a good one.

  16. I vote Sat or Sun depends which day has the best weather
  17. I'm going to bail out of this one unfortunately I'm carrying out a full service on my bike and will be pushing it to finish by Sunday and to top it off it's going to be close to 0 C all day Next time
  18. Sounds like it might be faulty, probably best to rip it out or bypass it (which is scarily easy)
  19. Are you sure nothing is interfering with the signal, does it only malfunction in certain areas or can it happen anywhere ?
  20. We are out virtually every Sunday, winter, summer, wet or dry. Unfortunately you're about 100miles away from us
  21. Let's hope for some decent weather, will keep an eye on it
