SHARP - Helmet ratings published
flipper replied to Korben's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I have had 2 nasty bad horrible serious crashes in which an Arai saved my life. I also like the fit, feel and comfort of an Arai, so I shall continue to use Arai helmets. This is not to suggest that a.n.other make of helmet would not have done the same, but the low points scoring Arai has worked for me and I am confident it would do the same again. Assuming that a helmet meets the testing standard, fit is the most important factor. -
no, but you didn't say that did you? why did you remove the sump to get to the clutch?

Bike to pillion intercom? Why???? It's the worst invention on the planet ever. Spoils the whole point of biking!

Open face lid.....no thank you.

from your initial description there's nothing wrong with the clutch. tis drag as already said. leave it well alone.

total engine strip and rebuild.

nowt to do wi clutch I reckon. if it were clutch then you'd have the problem changing between any 2 gears. popping out of gear is a gearbox issue.
-
could be worn or bent selector forks or worn selector drum. what mileage is on the bike? has it been dropped on the gear lever?

Tighten it to the correct torque - don't guess. Get a new split pin or R clip, as they cost pence and are there for a reason.

then yes, you should turn it off.

ZX7R has a vacuum tap doesn't it? (PRI position), so you can't.

newbie clothing advice needed!

Make sure the helmet fits properly. Different manufacturers/models have different shape fits, so they won't all feel the same. If you don't know how it should fit then go to a shop where they can check it fits correctly. A badly fitting helmet is pretty useless. Good quality does not have to mean expensive....you will pay a premium price for some big names that are not neccessarily better than cheaper brands - this applies to all motorcycle gear, not just helmets. -
Waterproof Textiles
flipper replied to Korben's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Held are excellent. I have the Samara jacket - £135, waterproof, waist zip, zip out liner, armour........and it actually is waterproof! Best textile jacket I ever bought. http://www.held-biker-fashion.de/index.php?plink=textil&l=1&fs=&lg=e -
I once got Jizer on a tyre - it started to attack the rubber pretty quickly. I wouldn't get it anywhere near my chain.
