  1. If you sign up to the KTM newsletter, there's a draw for an RC 390 later this year. http://www.ktm.com/gb/newsletter/ Good luck gang.
  2. Yeah don't click it. Teeny bit irresponsible to post the link in the first place TBH mate.

    Packing

Amateurs. One should always have a holiday cottage ready with all the comforts of home in case you need to pop smoke in a hurry
  4. That black with neon yellow scorpion using a gold mirror racing visor is one of the most attractive I've seen outside of custom paint jobs, nice find.

    Packing

Yeah cheers for that lads... I don't fly out until Monday, I'm just sorta procrastinating my way through this, doing a little at a time... see, this is why I need to find another wife... lol.

    Packing

I hate packing so much. I used to have to live in hotels, at one point I didn't sleep in my own bed for three months and I think it's given me some kind of PTSD about having to pack clothing etc for trips. Woe If anyone is a budding entrepreneur, maybe a sort of 'packing for hire' service to visit someone's house and do all the packing for them. I'd totally go for that right now.
  7. Hey, you're in Dorset, there's a fair few rides out that way aren't there?! Anyway, if you fancy taking a spin down the a30/a38 and meet halfway we could start a 125 south west ride of our own in Devon or something
  8. *smugly strokes his factory standard two halogen bulb housing* Yes. Get halogen, but be mindful of power differences etc and ensure the battery can take it.
  9. Can I just ask you all who are getting involved with asbestos that you treat it as VX poison gas please? When I was in my litigation seat during legal training I was involved in creating settlement agreements for the families of victims of those in the building trade who had gotten involved in asbestos. Note: the families. It's bloody dangerous stuff. If in doubt, either re-cover or bury it before calling in some kind of expert. I don't know the procedures or legal stuff that councils have to provide, I think there I should some burden on them though, but I do know it's horrible and nasty stuff that causes lot s of painful deaths. Cheers lads.

Just a general heh. No comment as to where that heh was aimed.
  11. In France last year I saw some campervans towing some trailers, probably trailertents - is it possible that you could achieve something like that and load a bike or two onto the back of it?
  12. Had that sort of problem before, twice. "This? Oh this is just a prop for a gag we are doing on the managing partner for his birthday, he's a huge Star Wars fan" Fortunately neither is any issue any more, heh. I keep trying to imagine how badly the last one would have lost her sh1t if she'd seen my recent purchases and we were still together!
  13. Could always have gone in and bought a massive top box or something too!
  14. I got my 3D printer last week and I'm obsessed with it. You should get a mahoosive one and print them to fit precisely!
  15. Rofl, genius April fool. Probably the best I've seen today because I'd really quite like one, although that price is more than my KTM cost me lol. well spotted
  16. Nothing wrong with getting a bike to avoid the hassle and costs of public transport, although I have to say that buying a Chinese bike does sound like both of those would be somewhat counterproductive. As has been stated before though, it is your decision of course. I can tell you that it's very few who are so naturally bikers that they didn't suffer from any nerves, anxiety, excitement, all mixed into an odd feeling when they started riding. I hadn't ridden for about 20 years until recently, and even tho I'm now out most days on the bike, it's still hard to,wipe the grin off my face, but i did have a little trepidation when I went to take the CBT. Fairly sure thats all very normal and I would imagine if you keep doing what you're doing, I.e. Practising and gently nudging your comfort zone regularly then you'll come to love it too. Good luck P.s. I await the defenders of Chinese bikes with excited anticipation
  17. Heh believe me I know the feeling Edit: should add that the exhaust adds a small much to the looks and noise to the 125 as the 390

    Hobbies..

Ah-so, Mawsley-San. Old Shotokan man myself - I used to train with Terry O'Neill, Bob Poynton, Frank Brennan et el back in the day. Got to 2nd Dan before relocating to somewhere with no KUGB club for miles around and eventually drifted away from it. Still miss it, but not quite enough to actually get my arse in gear and train. Hey! I trained with Bob Poynton a few times up in Liverpool I think? I normally trained in Bristol with another bob whose name I forget and Mervin Jakes, if you remember him? Bob P double graded me a few times out in erm.. Cumberland Leisure centre I think, but then I moved away and no KUGB clubs around so I took up aikido. Miss that, heh. Small world etc!
  19. Great looking bike, did you go for any power parts or will that temptation get you later? *cough exhaust cough*
  20. Yeah I think I'm going to go for them. The reflectors are a nice touch, might distract from my v v orange bike lol.
  21. Hehe, I only wear trainers when I'm in the gym or running tbh but thanks for the idea, I'm sure someone reading will find them interesting . Very much a boots person even when not on a bike.
  22. Thanks both, much appreciated. The prexport look like something I could be comfortable with, definitely the lead contender and after having gone a bit bonkers buying toys and stuff recently, the more modest price is very much what I'm looking for! Anymore for anymore, suggestionswise gang?
  23. Not the chemist, so put your loyalty cards away! Biking boots. More specifically boots that can sort of pass for almost casual but have reinforced ends for my delicate hooves when I gear change and shin/ankle protection for when some idiot tourist decides to knock me off. The other day I went and got a new helmet. With my card in my hand I went a bit mad and got a nice two piece leather matching outfit and some matching boots. It's a great fit and perfect for when I want to look like a stormtrooper, but not something I'm always going to want to wear. My initial boots were definitely inadequate protection, as was the jacket, so I have replaced the jacket but am now looking around for some boots to wear for when I'm wearing Kevlar jeans rather than pretending to be Commander Cody... Anyone know any obvious brands for great protection that can almost pass for casual boots? Shops around here are few and don't have anything I liked the look of, so may resort to tinternet or go farther afield if need be (Plymouth, Exeter, maybe even brizzle but I've not gone that far on my bike yet)... Fire away team tmbf!
  24. Checked/replaced all fuses? Something is creating a draw on the battery, not speaking from a bike knowledge here, just an electrical knowledge. Could be something as simple as a loose connection, go over everything carefully, check grounds, check all cabling, change all fuses. That'd be my first and entirely uninformed about bikes advice Good luck.
