  1. I'm a very new rider as well, I passed CBT in January but only got a bike 2 weeks ago, I got a lexmoto xtrs 125. The first few times I took it out I was terrible, stalling it and very jerky gear changes but all of a sudden it just clicked. I got my mate to check it over and he adjusted the chain and it made a huge difference gears are a lot smoother I'm now more confident. Keep at it and you'll all of a sudden get it. I went out at 7am on a sunday morning and rode and round tesco car park practising stopping and starting smoothly and treating it like a road. Don't give up, I'm by no means a good rider but I feel a lot safer on the road. Don't rush things don't worry about holding people up.
  2. It's the up hill bits it may struggle with But I'll give it a go it's for a good cause
  3. Thanks for the speedy replies. Showing my lack of knowledge.
  4. Wasn't sure if front and rear had to be the same. I'll see if I can get it repaired if not it'll be a replacement. Good to know I don't have to fork out for 2

    Tyre question

May be a stupid question but my little lexmoto has got a slow puncture on rear, both front and back have got loads of tread so is it OK to just replace the rear or would you recommend replacing both?
  6. Anyone going? I'm tempted to go but not sure my little hairdryer engine will make it to York
  7. I know it could have been a lot worse. He's been fine since he got home talking to his mates on playstation and eating everything in the kitchen. As soon as school is mentioned he suddenly feels sick. If I send him and his ill at school I'm the bad parent. I let him stay home and he's fine he's missed a day at school weeks before his GCSEs
  8. Decided to take my bike to work this morning because weather was meant to be nice, it lied and I got wet. Anyway got to work managed to get my bike into warehouse and start to give it a clean got it all washed and just as I was about to dry it i get a phone call from lads school "hello could you come to school we have had to call an ambulance for your son" I then jump on very wet bike seat and fight my way through traffic get to school where my son is already in back of ambulance. I'm expecting blood and guts but no....... him and his mates where f@@king about in changing rooms and he banged his head. Ambulance people said he was OK just needed to go home. School washed their hands of any responsibility of him as soon as I turned up. Told them I'd have to go home and get car and come back for him, NO couldn't that. So I had to walk home with him pushing my bloody bike up hill all the way home. For mentioned child is currently sat in his room playing playstation and eating sweets.
  9. I need my license for my job so it's not worth the risk. Most of my riding is around town so I'm lucky if I can get over 20mph anyway and on the national speed limits I don't have the confidence or the ability to ride over them. (Not that my bike goes much over 70 anyway)
  10. You are forgetting the couple of vfr's they have too I've not seen them, but again they wouldn't need them to stop me. I doubt I'd pull away from the bog standard panda cars. Not that they have any reason to stop me because I'm a law abiding citizen
  11. You meant, wait for you To be fair they don't even need the bike, they could just wait for me to catch up then walk along side me
  12. They are sneaky round here they have a rather nice unmarked hayabusa that likes to follow bikers, I've not been stopped by it but if he wanted to catch me he could just get off his bike and run after me
  13. Strangely enough I tightened the chain earlier and gave it a clean and lubed it up and that seems to have fixed both issues, did find a puncture in rear tyre as well. Thank you for the reply, looks like you were right, it seems to have just been clogged up with crap
  14. I've got a lexmoto xtrs 125 (please don't judge) bike is a 2015 model and is upto date with servicing. Only had it couple of weeks and only problem I've found with it is its hard to get into neutral and also neutral light is on regardless of what gear it's in. Any ideas?
  15. Ride within speed limits, not my choice all the time as my bike is lucky to make it much more than 65 without feeling like it's going to blow up (125cc). This morning I went out while roads where quiet and was quiet happy taking a corner at 50mph that I usually take at 30mph in my car then some idiot boy racer thought it'd be a great idea to over take me on the corner forcing me to nearly hit the curb. Can't say I enjoyed it much so I'll be sticking to speed limits.
  16. I've had same issue with my neighbour, she complained that my bike was revving loudly for 1 hour from 8am. If that was the case I'd of been late for work, I start at 8.30. I start it up at 8.15 put my gear on and set off at 8.20 every morning. My bikes a 125 so not exactly loud. Council got involved and said there is no issue case closed.
  17. Great, I'll take a ride upto cranswick this week if I get out of work in time
  18. Driffield. I know cranswick are starting their bike nights this week and warley cross is starting up again soon. I'd quite like to go and get to know a few people but not sure what welcome a little 125 will receive, I know I won't be able to keep up on the rides but I don't mind playing catch up.
  19. Ooops sorry that would help. I'm in East Yorkshire near bridlington
  20. Hi, fairly new to biking and am currently riding a Lexmoto xtrs 125, I know I know it's Chinese but it's a cheap stop gap until I get my full license hopefully later in the year. Anyway, I've seen there is a few local bike nights coming up but do any of them welcome 125s? I know it's not classed as a proper bike by some but hey everyone has to start somewhere
