  1. seems fine, isnt coming out the overflow either, Already gave it a right good clean. Its holding the revs for quite a while if i blip the throttle aswell
  2. Was balancing the carbs earlier, Been having issues with it not running right, Noticed the mix screw had to go in a fair bit, but also theres fuel coming up the vaccum line for balancing it, only happens on that carb, Is that a sign that its drawing too much fuel?
  3. The carbs i got where second hand and i have a feeling the jets werent great so thats prob what's causing the problem. If i can get it running smoothly enough that'll do me for now. Until i can be ar$ed spending more money on it
  4. The problem i was having that with the idle screw all the way out it was still at 4k, that was without the choke! It was over 5k with the choke. I seem to be getting somewhere though. I'd swapped parts from carb no.3, and had a fair idea it was running rich. So, Mixture screw all the way in on that one, and one turn out on each other one. Was a bit more bearable. Was going to get the carbs balanced because i think it will just take a bit of tinkering, but the bloody battery died when i went to start it again. Ah well. Thats the last time i can spend any great time on it for the next 7 weeks as i'm away working. Hopefully get it spot on when i get back
  5. If i keep it revving like that my neighbours are going to give me a kicking lol Im concerned about the bike aswell if its revving that high. Im assuming when it gets warmer it would level out, eg higher, but i wouldnt be able to lower the revs. Am i right in saying its running way too rich if it starts without choke? what way would i turn the pilot screw to make it leaner?

    High revving

Having major problems with the bike. When i start the bike without the choke its up at 3k revs. When i start it with the choke its up at 4-5k revs I've adjusted the mixture screw to the book setting which is two out, the throttle stop screw is all the way out. I had a nice pop from the exhaust when i tried starting it earlier so i assume thats unburnt fuel. Any ideas? im at the end of my tether and considering breaking it Ps its a 93 diversion 600
  7. forget last, the ybr owners will know better
  8. sounds like it bottoming out slightly. Is it at the end of travel it does it? if so, some heavier fork oil should do the trick
  9. In some countries, Its law that they have to scrub it before you leave the workshop. Answer, which works well. Orbital sander over it...Works wonders. Just dont go daft and ruin your tyres
  10. Roger....I'll have a look the next time im down at the garage

  12. yup, theyre adjusted ok. even with them off it still revs its head off. im just thinking, mabe ive put one of the springs on incorrectly
  13. Yup, The cables are sitting fine. I can move the mechanism by hand aswell. If it was on full choke i wouldnt be bothered, But thats it with no choke...oops lol
  14. Yeah the fuels flowing fine now as per last, However, The revs are 3k form cold without the choke! lol
  15. Phew, Got it working with just manually filling up the carbs. But, the revs are through the roof now. I've unscrewed the throttle stop screw out as far as it will go, Not using the choke but its still at 3k revs from cold. Any suggestions?
  16. Going by my most recent, just spraying the fairing cost me about £50 and its nowhere near perfect. In all honesty, It might be just as cheap getting it done at a local sprayers
  17. never had the pleasure of a fuel injection although, if i could afford a new bike i would
  18. thanks dan, fuels getting to the carbs, doesnt seem to be getting to the intake but jets etc are clear
  19. how would i know?
  20. right, got my second hand carbs through today for my xj 600. i swapped over carb 3, due to the pilot screw being knackered. all back together, back on the bike....nothing. Fuel appears to be getting to the carbs but it isnt firing. I've taken the plugs out and they dont smell of fuel. Any ideas?
  21. I check mine every oil change which is 5k. only takes 10mins to do
  22. oops lol Doesnt matter if you have the colour code anyway, I've found out to my expense that hardly anyone makes it up properly anyway
  23. Yeah i've tried that, All good with it. Looks as though its a seal thats gone in the m/c. I'll just get a second hand one
  24. I spent 15quid on mine about 3 1/2 years ago and its still going strong. I've just full suspension on 3 cars with it, numerous brakes, motorbikes etc. Cant complain at that. Got it off ebay
