  1. That's the one, just need ear plugs/head phones now Will get the 6220 I expect 'cos I'll be using sound not screen when on bike ... Thanks mate
  2. Will be after one smaller than the N95 - but that's cool. Anyone know a link for a) a nokia -> headphone adapter b) a cheap earpiece/headphone that doubles as an earplug? Thanks mate
  3. I like riding with ear plugs in I have SatNav, but no motorcycle adaptor My phone upgrade is in 3 weeks. So ... was thinking of getting a Nokia with built in SatNav. This could go in my coat pocket, and I could use headphones to navigate. If it gets tricky I can pull over to look at map, but should be OK. But I'd want ones that act as ear plugs too. Can you get this sort of headphone that would work on a Nokia? Also, anyone else used a Nokia for SatNav on a bike? Is it OK? I.e. does it work OK, will battery be OK, is it loud enough? Thanks
  4. Sure did! Now on the road with my CBR600F
  5. Dunno - all fine during my test, and fine now I think it's the nerves of an "instant fail"
  6. Cheers guys U turn! LOL
  7. parapanfan Can't really do that. I have an hour before test where I'm with instructor, I'll tell him what I want to concentrate on, so practice then. Plus I have to warm up the bike in carpark, so I will do some (flat ground) then too. The only access I have to another bike is my CBR600F - but I don't fancy using that for U turns mainly because it revs a lot faster than the GS500 I'm learning on, and clutch/brakes are sharper. I fear that if I practice on my bike I may be 'thrown' on the test. monkeyknuckle That's good news. I'm still sh1tting it though
  8. True Realistically I'm capable of passing, they have a good pass rate and I consider myself good at this sorta thing. I had 6 minors in my mock I'm just nervous as hell 'cos I REALLY want to be on my bike Thursday!
  9. Dunno why, but I'm sh1tting it as I have my test on Thursday and I REALLY want it. About 1 in 10 times I have an issue with U turns. Just wondering what tolerances there are (if any), i.e. anyone put their foot down and still passed test? I'm sure that apart from U turn I should be OK (so long as I don't lock up back wheel during em stop), but I'd hate to fail for something so silly. Our instructors ahve a 93% first time pass rate, but they make it sound really hard ... Thx
  10. That's true, I could just take a bag ... What a good idea - LOL
  11. Really, even at low speed? (thx)
  12. Right, I'm riding all day Sunday 10-4. Weather is up to 7 deg, rain. DAS final day! Consists of a 60mph stretch for 10 mins. Then mainly around town doing 4 or 5 test routes, so will be doing u turns, and 20-40mph (maybe the occasional 60 for a minute or two). Then at 3:30ish head back, again 10 mins. On top I have a textile jacket and thermal liner, but just to be sure I'll put a base layer underneath rather than t shirt. Have neck warmer My questions are: 1. I have textile trousers which are fcuking hot with liner. Do I remove this or am I likely to get cold 2. I have RST summer gloves, and sliky inner gloves, are these likely to be warm enough or do I use the old winter ones (where I can't use controls properly) If I was doing a day at 60mph then I'd def go for warm ptions, but as it's only slow speed I wonder if it's needed. Last time it didn't rain and I was sweating! What would you do? Cheers
  13. I've checked and they say I can return or exchange if it doesn't fit. Also explained the differences between them, asked my height and bike etc. So I'll try a medium. If it doesn't fit I'll send back Thanks guys
  14. Ah, missed that Hmmmmmn, that confuses things My waist is 36" (lower end of medium) shoulder to waist about 20-21" (medium/large) back wide, but they don't ask that I can't try on as nearest dealer long way Worth phoning them or trying different manufacturer? Thx guys
  15. If large is the biggest, I'll need large - trust me If anyone knows of a size chart though, let me know ... Thx
  16. OKay, cool thanks mate - that one is £90 Worth just getting a large one? (my back is big) rather buy online as it's for a present for me from someone Thx
  17. I have an RST textile jacket and trousers which zip together. Both offer some degree of spine rotection, but not enough Can anyone give me link to a good spine protector online? Looking at £80ish? (more if needed) Was sugegsted this link before ... which one to get though? http://www.planet-knox.com/SearchResult ... egoryID=10 Any ideas appreciated I'm 15 stone, slim (body builder), jacket is XXL (or is it XXXL?) with a bit of room, but snug. Will be riding a CBR600F in the dry, on the road. Thanks
  18. Bought an RST set of textiles last weekend Very comfy in wet and dry - our doing direct access all day Sunday
  19. I'll have to see how it goes After my Direct Access (where I want a good fitting helmet as one they supplied during CBT was s**t, misted easily, didn't fit) and test, I'll be a 99% summer/day rider. So shouldn't have too many issues. The other night it was wet and cold, I put helmet on and stood outside, no problems. We'll have to see Thx guys
  20. LOL - I'm 29 and the same
  21. Good idea mate But not telling my folks until I get a bike, they'll not be happy
  22. Cool - thx guys I'll prob get one of those cheap jackets, and take it from there. That'll be enough for time being. No doubt when I pass test and get bike I'll upgrade bits, and this way I can put a back protector on my list
  23. From Lidl for £14? (can you get online that cheap?) Sweet Just got to decide if that ither jacket is good enough ... Thx
  24. Cool - the cheap one Thanks mate Do you know if a decent (cheap) jacket with back protection built in? New or second hand? (in red) Anyone give a link? Thanks for help
  25. OKay, thanks mate So what about the two jacket links then? Cheers for your help
