  7. Internal shades, MP3 socket, Internal Speakers. So far I've been advised to look at the Nolan helmets that some bike cops use and the Viper Helmet, anybody else got any suggestions?? Thanks
  8. Forget to say, so far we have 6 confirmed bikers with another who should be confirming this week. There may also be a car going which can carry luggage, tools etc.
  9. Dates are 11th April to 17th (maybe 18th) April. We're getting the Ferry from Harwich around 9am on the 11th we're going to Nurburgring, Frankfurt, Prague then back to Amsterdam. Looking at getting 2 nights in Prague and 1 maybe two nights in Amsterdam. Still making the final arrangements over the trip itself and should have a price by the end of this week. Send me your email address if you want copying into the email with final details Alan
  10. What bike do you ride? I did it on my ninja and was tempted to walk along side my bike for the last 100 miles!
  11. It took me 13 hours to ride 610 miles, I did hit some really really crap traffic and road works and reckon I could have knocked off at least a couple of hours from that time, but I guess 1,000 miles would still be around 15 hours riding at least?
  12. I did Aberdeen to Bognor Regis last week which was 610 miles in a day and I do indeed have an Iron Butt! my little brother lives in Aberdeen so I will be up for this. My only concern is how can you ride 1,000 miles in a day?
  13. Is that the GTR you're on there? I've been considering buying one, any good?
  14. I've started to plan for a trip next year around end of April start of May time to Prague, stopping off at various places one being the Nurburgring! So far there's 8 of us who are very interested, I'm sure that at least 5 of those 8 are defiantly up for this. If you would be interested PM your email and I will include you in the trip details as it develops Cheers Alan Here's the trip, let me know if you fancy it, we have 5 confirmed so far with another interested. We leave on the 11th of April come back on the 17th 2010 Sunday- Meet after ferry then Amsterdam to Nurburgring 220 miles Monday- Go around ring, afterwards Ring to Stuttgart 177 miles. Tuesday- Stuttgart to Prague 250 miles Wednesday- Prague Thursday- Prague to Bielefeld 359 miles Friday- Bielefeld to Amsterdam 194 miles Saturday – Amsterdam to home on ferry Ferry costs £120 return inclusive of a cabin (8 hour ferry crossing) The hotels are all pretty close to the action and have the required secure parking, although this is at an additional cost. Most of them offer a garage as well, so we could all split the bill and put the bikes in together. The prices below are for two people sharing one room. All of the hotels offer rooms with two beds, so no spooning required! Sun 11th - Nurbergring - Dorint Am Nuerburgring - £93.54 Mon 12th - Stuttgart - Achat Hotel Stuttgart - £53.34 Tue 13th/Wed 14th - Prague - Aparthotel Susa - £70.76 (for both nights) Thurs 15th - Bielefeld - Moevenpick Hotel Bielefeld - £76.87 Friday 16th – Amsterdam Campinzeeburg (wagonettes) - £35 Total £325 1/2 = £165pp for the 6 nights Total cost of trip (Ferry crossing and accommodation) = £285 per person ( this is dependant on if above prices are the same when it comes to booking at the end of this month but shouldn’t vary too much if at all) Total mileage of trip is 1200 miles once were in Amsterdam prague.bmp
  15. Its the 636. I did the first 200 mlies with only a fuel stop, then hit 50 miles of traffic and road works on the M6 so stopped a few times then to ease the boredom, then stopped around every 100 miles afterwards. I reckon I could have done it a few hours quicker if it wasn't for the M6 and M42 being packed with roads works. MY back side is feeling much better now
  16. I rode 610 miles on Friday from Aberdeen to Bognor Regis, took me 13 hours and my arse hurts! Weather was good though!
  17. no worries mate, didnt get any takers on this one anyway, just making plans for a big europe trip next year, 6 of us in so far going for a week around the end of April if you're interested?
  18. So im up in Aberdeen for the week, anybody know of any good places to ride to or is anybody having a ride out this week that I can tag along to?
  19. That's correct Colin
  20. It looks like a good date would be the 21st of November. I've priced up the Ferry from Dover to Calais and with a special discount that I should be able to get it will cost £21.14 for bikers, normally £23.50. I've had a quick look and Lille has a Christmas market on at this time which is apparently the largest in Northern France so seems like a good place to head to. We could locate a supermarket on the way back for a few bottles of vodka or whatever you fancy! I'm happy to book the Ferry for anybody if they forward me a cheque first or you can book it yourselves if you fancy it. I’m heading over from Bognor Regis (I know very sad book I'm planning my escape plan as I type!) I’m happy to meet anywhere around here or on the M25 / M20 or at Dover, just let me know. Here's a link for the Christmas market http://www.frenchconnections.co.uk/en/g ... 0-dec-2009 Cheers Alan
  21. Its still an idea at the moment, if there's people up for it then throw rough dates my way and I will look at cost etc. I guess after November 20th would be the best time for me
  22. Thats why I'm going on the 6th I will be there on the 6th then too, want to get a new textile suit. Any idea what sort of discount I may expect?
  23. I assume this is the big bike show that lots of people go on about? I want to go up as Ive been told if I go on the last day I may get a cheap gortex suit, anybody know if this is the case?
  24. Anybody fancy this before christmas sometime? Get a few pressies in?
