  1. I've been wearing the blade textile jacket and trousers for a few months now. They are both very comfortable. The armour doesn't poke you like some brands do. They feel very safe. I feel confident that should things go wrong they will stand up to the task of keeping me in one piece. Considering that they don't feel heavy. They are well priced for what you get. Removable lining means you can get 3, maybe 4 seasons. The zips in the pockets are sturdy but fiddly with gloves on. In the summer, over say 16 degrees they are warm. There is a rear vent in the jacket but that's it. Nothing in the trousers. when the temp is mid teens or higher and I'm commuting home and stopped in tesco for a few bits my shirt is damp and stuck to me and guaranteed sweaty gentleman bits. There are much better jackets and trousers out there. But for bang for buck these are very competitive and ideal for someone new to two wheels.
  2. I've stuck it as long as I can but the heavy rst blade is going to turn me in to a sweaty puddle soon. It's late in the year but I think I need to get a lighter jacket. I've been looking at the knox zepher jacket and the rev it torque jacket. I'm on a little naked cb125f. Most of my miles are city driving with a little blast of dual carriage way. Both jackets seem to be quite similar although Knox is a little better looking from the online photos. What do you think of the 2 jackets or is there something else I should consider? Looking to keep it under £200.
  3. Have a look at pewag security chains from brindleyschains.co.uk Their chains are a little more than oxfords but seem to be better quality. I bought some recently and really am impressed by them.
  4. I'm down SW most of the time.
  5. My sense of direction often let's me down but I don't think my commute through London has ever taken me that far off course!
  6. After much deliberation I decided to give 2 wheels a go and recently picked up a 2018 cb125f. I've covered about 100 miles now and loving every minute of it. It's quite nippy up to a certain point but not the fastest thing on the road but for now it ticks all the boxes I require, even if it is bright yellow.
  7. I saw some under £100 on their web site; they're running a sale right now. But perhaps they don't have your size in. I found that the sizes run like normal sizes. I got a longer leg that I would normally, as I prefer to pad around with baggy ankles when I'm off the bike than having the legs ride up towards my knees when I'm on it. The only ones on sale are 40 inch waist or higher. I'll get there one day but right now I'm smaller than that size. I got them a little longer than normal though so the knee is in the right place when on the bike.
  8. I've opted for hood jeans. Great reviews for comfort. Fully Kevlar lined and have d3o knee and hip protection. I've spent the extra £12 and got the CE level 2. And they apparently are not affected by moisture unlike some other Kevlar products. Being somewhat vertically challenged, having the option for leg length is a plus. I'd be lost in a pair with a 33 inch leg like some manufacturers only provide. Thanks for your help everyone.
  9. The 'private' price for a leg rebuild and skin graft is around £17.5K so £150 sounds cheap to me! That is quite the price difference. And the £150 is much more convenient too. What I meant was if there are 2 products out there that have the same performance then I'd be choosing the cheaper.
  10. Thanks for the suggestion of Hood. They are on the expensive side though. Looking at their site they are about £150. Do they tend to fit to size like a normal mean would?
  11. Summer is threatening to break through at last. My RST textiles are very warm in the evening. I'm looking for some good jeans and trying to keep things under £100 if possible. At the moment I've seen Course and Bull-it. I'm wary of Course as the description is vague. Bull-it have their covec material and spare for knee and hip armour so I'm leaningtowards them. Anyone got any suggestions or comments on these brands or others?
  12. I have one of these bags for 2 weeks now. Construction and materials are quite good especially for the price. The hard shell looks good and is comfortable to wear. But as mentioned above there is no 'give' so you can't fit much bulk. I use it for work. It fits my lunch and gym kit which is all I need.
  13. Riding around like a mutant ninja turtle
  14. Went to doble Honda in Surrey. Nice guys , some great bikes in the showroom. I think they may have miscalculated the box price but I'm not complaining.
  15. I had a chat with the dealer today. They have done a 37L Givi box fitted for 85 quid which I think is a good deal.
  16. Nothing on the bike yet. Plan is to keep the bike for up to 2 years. Is 200 for it all bought and fitted a fair deal?
  17. I've bought my first bike. A cb125f and I'm happy as can be with the little machine. I'm in need of some storage for commuting. Honda have quoted about 200 quid for a 30L box. My uneducated self thinks this is a bit steep. Other than that I've seen 30L bags for about 110 that are waterproof etc. Bag would ideally fit a change of clothes and my helmet. Imagine what I'd need to fit in there going to football training after work. Any suggestions for me? Or shops in SW London that might be worth a visit for this?
  18. Unfortunately not but they are a good price already IMO About 200 for 1.5m chain and lock. Plan is to use this while the bike is locked at home. Worth it if it stops my bike being nicked.
  19. These look like the best available. Is there a members discount on these?
  20. I'm thinking of doing the same but getting a cbr125 from superbike factory. Their bikes all seem to be cheaper than local. I'm South of London so it's 350 mile round trip to them. I'm not mechanically minded so I'd just be kicking tyres. It's a shame the rac don't do a bike check service.
