  1. you did say nice bikes didnt you? I fair to see any These 2 were shining in the sun and were a far cry from the dozens of hondas, KTM and Yamaha lined up. They looked great but I'd never have one of these
  2. I'm just back from Chamonix. Lots of nice bikes out and about. None of them mine unfortunately.
  3. Thanks, I've had a look they don't have any reviews under 4 stars which is amazing. I'll give them a call.
  4. Can anyone out there recommend me a bike garage in South West London? I've a slow puncture on my back tyre. Losing about 6 psi a week on it. I'll need to have a proper look and see where the problem is but will need to be looked at for servicing anyway at some point. I've seen this place online. It's a bit down the road but has an ok list of online reviews. https://www.motorcycle-surgery.co.uk/ Has anyone here had dealing with them or anyone else within a reasonable distance of this place?
  5. I wore just normal leather boots I've worn to the pub fory CBT. The centre provided the rest. As mentioned earlier don't buy things until you have done the CBT. Your Timberlands will do you for the day of the CBT.
  6. Yeah I've seen this video for the bicycle version. Id imagine the Moto version is much the same. Would be a great commuter option if it held up better to attack.
  7. I watched TMF YouTube video today on what security he uses. One of them is the litelock Moto. When commuting to work in park on the street and bring my big chain and lock with me. This litelock seems like a great alternative. Gold standard, light weight etc but the gold standard bicycle version is reviewed by the lock picking lawyer and he uses about cutters and is through it in 16 seconds. Not exactly inspiring for the Moto version! I've not seen any genuine review online where they try to destroy it. Any experience here of this lock?
  8. I saw CBT lessons on the road in West London this week
  9. I commute in on my bike to central london daily, well not for a while but will do again some day. Suit trousers were always fine under my textiles or my hood jeans. I keep my jackets in the office. I don't really need it unless I'm meeting clients so one day I brought them in and they just hang there now. Shirts are the hard part. If you're on a sports bike and leaning over it can get creased quicker than a naked. If you can, buy non iron shirts bit do iron them. Non iron shirts used to feel terrible. (Before office jobs was a drycleaner) Tm lewin, CT shirts, Hawes &Curtis etc all do them and they are nice to wear. After the commute the shirt will have some creases but your body heat will smooth these out in an hour. Just make sure your jacket isnt too tight as it will wrinkle a lot then. Finally, once you have a job you could get them washed and ironed in a shop close to your office. Commute in a tshirt and change when you arrive in. Final final option. Store an iron in your office if you can. A bank I worked for had one in the back. It was great, if not a bit odd
  10. They knew about the delays and still sold the quick delivery to you. If you paid it through a credit card then ring your card provider and claim that way. I did this recently. I hired a car for a week, paid extra for excess cover and I had a small accident where the front bumper was scuffed. The wall I hit was fine I paid the excess and then went to insurer to claim excess. I emailed and called repeatedly and nothing for months. I put reviews online and then saw tons of other complaints. I rang my bank, told them the story. Not only did they refund my insurance fee they paid out the total cost of the excess I paid. I never heard from the insurers in the end.
  11. Mine runs out in april. Did 2 weeks ago to get it done early. Luckily I did, otherwise my bike would be parked up for the foreseeable future
  12. Yeah that's the type of thing I am looking for. Something to just rinse off the suds.
  13. My bike is in need of a clean and i hate having dirty cars and bikes. I'm looking for something to replace a pressure washer. I dont have access to power or water where the bike is parked. I've seen ads for various kits that have a bottle or a bucket attached to and hose and brush. Any recommendations on what I could use? Needs to be compact too as I've no space to store a big karcher or something at the moment.
  14. Yeah there is a though think now much the helmet manufactures would charge for them... At the moment I am not blind enough to wear glasses when driving but the day will come Can you imagine someone with a real strong prescription wearing a helmet with a prescription visor. They would have a massive magnified face. Just cruising along freaking everyone out with their huge head
  15. I wear glasses for work, pc screen gives me headaches and I'm shortsighted. I wear glasses mostly unless I'm in the gym. I see better with glasses than contacts so I prefer that. Some manufacturers have cut a groove into the helmet lining to allow glasses to fit easier. My hjc lid has it. Works fine, no issues. Downside is as has been mentioned, rain and snow. Rain will get on your specs and you wont be able to wipe them clean whilst riding. Specs will fog up too in the cold which is a real pain. Any solutions out there for that?
  16. Itch on your face is worse I had an itchy ear coming home this week in the peeing rain. Torture!
  17. In no particular order.... The rain, expected or not. My glasses and visor flogging up so i cant see squat of the alternative of getting smashed by hail stone. The amount of time it take to get all the kit on, unlock the bike etc then to just do it all in reverse once I reach my destination. Scooter/moped drivers with suicidal wishes. They squeeze in to ever inch of space with no regard as to why that spot might be open....oncoming traffic, truck turning, ambulance in a hurry etc. Also undertaking traffic that is doing 28mph is not filtering ffs.
  18. And what is the excess on that policy? Enough that I had to insure the excess through a 3rd party. Unfortunately no other insurer came close to their quote. Still massively expensive but I think the next cheapest quote was over 3 times mce
  19. I've just renewed my insurance with mce. Some pain in the I had a gap where I had no bike soni rang them and asked if my NBC was still ok. They confirmed it was so I said I'd like to proceed with the online quote. Gave them the reference and they went through every question again ffs. Then it was 150 more expensive than the online quote. She just said that's the price.... spoke to the manager who eventually changed it back down. Scum
  20. So I got the bike started thanks to a call out from AA. Nice guy, gave it a jump and checked it was all running ok. I took it for a spin for an hour after to charge it up. Stopped for fuel and it started again no problem. I'll know if it is all ok when I go to start it in the morning.

    Dead battery

I must have left the parking lights on last night. My bike wont start today. The light, display wont come on and all was well with the bike up until then. Can I get a jump from a car battery or does it have to be another bike? Or do I need a new battery? Bike is a 2018 gsxs125 Thanks
  22. Thanks, i had looked at the yamaha but this one won me over. It should do about 100mpg so hopefully over the long run it evens off with a train ticket but is much more fun
  23. I had been keeping an eye on a cbr as there are good ones quite cheap out there. However i got a good deal on this suzuki and it ticks all the right boxes for me at this point in time.
