Ive got the worx one. Jet wash is over stateing it's ability. It had enough power to wash the bike but won't remove dirt like a jet wash at a car wash. i use the spray foam bottle to cover in suds then wash the bike and then clean off with a spray again. It's not got anywhere near the power of a mains operated machine but I like that knowing that it's not going to damage electrics.

I think whoever parked this should reassess their parking skills. So he's legally parked but he's taking up space where someone else could have also fit in. Parking in town is difficult as it's always busy so he should have made it easier for others or gone across the road where there is designated and free motorcycle parking. The carpark is normally full but I've never seen the bike spaces full, usually it's empty. *I didn't see the rider, assumed it's a he.

Anti fog lenses anyone??
daveinlim replied to daveinlim's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
So far the disposable Zeiss wipes are good enough but not 100% like res+pure were. The sellers on Amazon often post out of date stock so some are dry. Probably overstocked from COVID mask days. In the space of 2 weeks I've had my car spring an oil leak and a big windscreen crack. Plus car and bike insurance are now due so will wait another pay day before sending off the glasses for anti fog coating -

Anti fog lenses anyone??
daveinlim replied to daveinlim's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I'm using zeiss at the moment, the disposable wipes. They are good but not amazing and the film it leaves attracts dust. But it is good at keeping most of the fog away. The anti fog treatment is permanent so less hassle and I'm hoping someone has done it. -
Anti fog lenses anyone??
daveinlim replied to daveinlim's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Yeah but I don't like them and can only wear them for a shirt time before my eyes get dry. I'm sat at a screen most of the day and glasses are more comfortable. I don't want to use contacts just for my commute each day. -
I wear glasses all the time and been struggling with fogging lenses all winter. I used to use re+spire supercharged anti fog wipes and they were great. But no longer available. I saw recently that you can send your glasses away and get an anti fog coating done. Has anyone done it?

Cleaned my cbr or more accurately transferred the dirt from it to me. It's such a shame that you can't just bring your bike to a place for a quick clean like you can a car rather than expensive detailers

I meant a backpack for both. I've now got a top box as it's easier and I now use an airbag which you can't really use a backpack with them.

I have 2 bags. A large one from SW motech. It's a large roll top and waterproof and great at holding everything whilst comfortable. Also it's bright yellow so good in winter. I've a black Samsonite rolltop too that's smaller which has more of an office look. That's water resistant. Materials are good but I don't 100% trust the zips.

My helmets are usually XL and many manufacturers will do much larger too. Have a look at sportsbikeshop and use them to see the various types of helmet on the market. Look at online reviews from the likes of Bennetts and you'll see that there are plenty of cheap helmets out there that can do a good job. Look for helmets that are 22.06 compliant. That's the new min safety level. Google motorcycles clothing and wherever you are and find a shop. Go try them on as every helmet brand fits a little different to the rest. Staff in shops are usually very helpful.a good fit is just, if not more important than anything else. All UK sold helmets have to meet minimum safety levels. You're on 2 wheels now. Maybe this is a nice opportunity to get out on your bike a bit. If the helmet is loud and cold and it's modular helmet I'd check carefully that it is actually closed right on your head. It might be too small.

Lots of flooding locally this week. On a 40mph back road. Our side of the road is flooded with about a foot of water. Guy in a Skoda Octavia decides that crossing over to the other side of the road is the best way even though there's 3 cars coming against us. Rather than risk getting his front bumper wet (it's a foot deep he could make it) he plays chicken with oncoming traffic who are forced to stop dead or have a head on collision. I had wife and out baby in the car so hit our brakes fairly sharpish to avoid the potential disaster ahead. Lucky all 3 cars stopped in time to let this nob by.

Don't electric bikes make any 50cc licence almost redundant.

I see this behaviour daily. A common one is on a motorway overpass. The left lane is very clearly signposted to be left only but every other day there is someone who will turn right, not even going straight on and cut across 2 lanes that are going straight over the roundabout. Another is at local set of lights. Left lane goes left only. Middle lane straight on and right lane right. Simple! Very few go left so the usual Audi, BMW, AMG crowd go to the left lane and when the lights turn green they gun it forward. Sometimes I foolishly hold my course but that could end poorly one day. Better to be safe and alive and let the idiot past than be right but sliding down the road on your arse

2nd one today, guy in a new green ninja 125. It's a lovely bike for a 125 but slow down matey. Stopped in a 2 lane road, heavy traffic approaching a roundabout. I'm driving a big SUV and he's come by so fast and close it rocked my car! Whoever you are, if you're on here, take it easy or you'll be on the gifting side of the organ donor list soon.

Coming out of our street onto the main road I was met with temp lights as the junction, normally there's no lights. Sit at a red for a few seconds behind another car and our light turns green. There's about 5 cars waiting at the lights to the left and the same to the right. Our lights green, as the car in front moves forward a jaguar SUV comes roaring past the 5 cars it was sat behind and into the path of the car in front of me. He was flooring it, engine screaming in first gear. If the guy in front had pulled away any quicker it would have been a head on collision as he turned onto the main road. Guy in the Jag needs a hot poker shoved where the sun don't shine. If they had collided then him the guy in front, me and probably another car or something pedestrians would have all been impacted.

Aaahh, bloody weatherman or whoever is in charge of the weather. Snow yesterday meant I took the car to work. Usual 40 minutes trip took 2 hours. This morning, back on the bike I got stuck behind a lorry for a few seconds that kicked up all the dirt and salt on me. My shiny new carbon helmet covered in salty gunk. Not a happy chap today.

After passing my das I got a 2012 honda cbr600f. Cheap bike that has plenty of go, 100 bhp so a little more than the current 650, I think it looks well and is a sporty bike without being back breaking and insurance wasn't asking for a kidney or my first born. Being a 600 I4 it does take some working the gears to get the most from it but that's part of the appeal. I've had 2 now and will probably change up next year to the new 1k hornet.

What glasses anti fog wipe
daveinlim replied to daveinlim's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
This has been my temp solution but I've an hour commute each way and it's a mix of heavy town traffic, country roads and motorways. I'd rather keep the visor closed than let in the cold and rain in winter. Been all good until the change in weather. -
Bit of a random one but for those of us that have less than perfect vision the damp air of winter is causing our glasses to fog up. I had been using a brand called respite who are American and their reusable wipes was fantastic and lasted about a year. The last one of them I have is now finished and I've been trying others but they have all been useless. Can anyone recommend a new brand I can try. I want a reusable glasses wipe rather than a spray bottle and a wipe as it's easier to just leave the wipe in my jacket. Zeiss do disposable ones which I might give a go.

It depends what you mean my managed. A few of the big names will hold a pension for someone outside the UK. If you're not contributing then a transfer should be straight forward. Since Brexit a lot of firms have given up their international licences as they were too expensive to maintain or too complicated. A DFM to actively manage may be harder to find also an IFA with an international licence is hard to find now.
