I've always found that the treatment has been great. Fantastic doctors, nurses, surgeons, staff etc. 

But it is always the opposite on the admin side. Constantly being forgotten about, appointments not booked at the right times, long waits and delays etc

Mine for today is the chap in a new fiesta on fake plates driving down the bus lanes in London, zooming in and out across multiple lanes at 8:30 am. 

Everyone on 2 wheels staying well back from him as nobody knows what he could do next.

Is lying to police on the side of the road counted as perverting the course of justice? You're not under oath or anything. It would be different if lying in court but can you be convicted of telling lies to police on a traffic stop?

My friend has a loan of a Yamaha xsr. There's literally no under seat space to put his disc locks.

Can anyone recommend a small holder that could temp be strapped to the bike with out having to have a backpack.

Usually 05 vehicles swinig either way and you need to prove it and 06+ you're clear. My K3 is not ULEZ compliant. My old 05 SV650 was but I had to prove it.

 

Definitely something worth factoring into price when deciding which bike if you're commuting within the ULEZ.

For commuting into London I'd be looking at something euro 4 which was around 2011 I think. Ulez has recently been expanded in London and there's talks of a further massive increase in the area it covers meaning if you're travelling anywhere near London you'll need a ulez compliant vehicle. Pain for people with nice older bikes and cars that are well maintained.

Riding positions are not as aggressive as the others or newer models.

Your core/back muscles will have to strengthen a bit to get used to the position. An hour each way is tolerable.

 

Great for motorway cruising or blasting - depending on your mood, more power than you can handle and you'll always look forward to riding it.

Great for filtering as you will be doing a lot of that on the A2 and anytime there is an accident on the m25 and traffic comes to a standstill, which is everyday. 

 

As others have said, If you're planning on doing this commute soon, you will need to learn how to layer up to keep warm, get heated gloves and waterproofs for Dec, Jan, Feb & maybe March.

If you don't wear the right gear, your fingers will be freezing before you've even left the A21 and the first thing you'll do when you get to your destination will be to open up Autotrader and look for a car. 

Is this generation ulez compliant? I'd have thought you'd have to get a cert even if it is within emissions. I've the 2011 version and agree it's a great all rounder 

I had a Suzuki gxsx125 for 2 years to commute into London. It's got the full 15bhp, nice and light and nimble, led headlight, abs and looks good. You'll pick up a 2018/9 for 2k. 

Bad service feels worse than bad prices sometimes. 

On your sat nav point I use my phone but use the case from ultimate addons. Been using it for a while and in bad weather. My phone's waterproof, submergible even but the touchscreen gets funny in the rain. The UA case solved all that. 

I've just always done as you said, tell Google you don't want to go via motorway and it's worked out fine.

I do a similar commute on a cbr600f. 100 bhp, comfortable, fairings, easy to get parts and modifications. 

I've done about 2000 miles so far and have no complaints 

On paper this looks like a decent overall package but the looks in my opinion are such a step back from the cb650r. It's basically a cb500f with a pointy nose 

I've ordered a set of Michelin road 6 so just got to wait and see how I get on

Well I'm definitely not a skinny teenager. The 600 is about 200kg and I'm just under half that again.

I recently bought a cbr600f which have Bridgestone battlax BT16 on them but the rear is starting to get close to needing replacement and is squaring a little too. 

Tyre size is 120/70/17 on front and 180/55/17 on the rear. 

Having looked online there's tons of choice and I don't know where to start. The bike will be used throughout the winter as a commuter (heres hoping ceramic coating and xcp keeps the rust away). 

Some variation of a sports touring tyre is probably best. I do a lot of motorway miles and city riding so needs something that won't square off too quick and something good in the wet for the winter. But there seems to be a never ending list of options. 

Any suggestions to narrow it down?

I've just watched a video from Bennetts on YouTube about Carvenal Gloves. I've seen their ads several times on Facebook. Something about their ads always screamed scam to me so I never went near them but Bennetts have done some research and it looks pretty bad. Seems that if you have these you'd be better off throwing them in the bin.

I've done this climb. The track is about 2 meters wide and you're clipped in through a harness the whole way. Great view of the city and no glue required, not even a can of soup to throw at a painting

I've got Oxford hinterland jacket and trousers.

They have the usual protection you'd expect plus are laminated. I've been in some bad weather in my winter commutes and never got wet. They aren't the cheapest but are probably the cheapest laminate kit out there. I went up a size to allow space for my normal clothes to be worn underneath on the way to work. 

After having laminated kit I can't ever see myself going back to a drop liner. 

When I know the weather is going to be really bad I also wear a cheap oversuit to add another bit of waterproofing. That way the Oxford kit is definitely dry when it's time to go home at the end of the day.
