  1. Bliss. I’m almost enjoying it on your behalf
  2. Then there’s the general consideration that people who pick at others people’s spelling are lacking in education themselves as no-one taught them to have the manners and good grace not to make someone feel stupid. A childish jab designed as much to make themselves feel superior as making someone else feel inferior. Mind you when a ‘debate’ reduces to ad hominem (as it does often in my house) then it’s all fair game, the gloves are off and I love it
  3. There are academic articles demonstrating spelling and a grasp of the English language is a no indicator of intellect. Many of histories biggest bellends had a fantastic command of the English language. Get wot u mean that if they can’t order words on a page how can they possibly order any thoughts but it doesn’t work like that. My brother is a fantastic example. Written off at school and still has appalling spelling, grammar, punctuation- can’t even fill in a form properly. In his 30’s he got over the pathetic excuse for an education we had and is now eminently qualified in fusion physics working with the type of freaky intellectuals you see in Hollywood movies. His latest job is working on the storing of information on light particles (cos silicone is now considered so limited) but if you read any of his emails you’d wonder how. So much is hung on the one particular skill set of spelling and grammar it can eclipse everything else they’re capable of and we all go along with it.
  4. How else can we dismiss drivel?
  5. Surely a reason has to be given for a nomination for everyone’s consideration in the vote?
  6. Sending legitimate requests for help off at an irrelevant tangent, spoiling otherwise clever or funny commentary, making someone else feel stupid and being so thick skinned you can’t pick up on the messages coming your way to stop it, well I’d say perhaps all twats are not equal. I acknowledge this is something of a compulsion so dunno if you can be counted as a twat.
  7. I fink I wif u in it.
  8. Jacqui Furneux has to get help to get her bike on and off and that would be enough to put me off. Ask for help every time you wanted to go out on your bike?! Nick Sanders place is good. His wife’s cooking is amazing, I wouldn’t leave that behind to sit on a barge. If you get the opportunity to go there, definitely go. That’s made me hungry, I’m off to the kitchen.
  9. Is that the admin equivalent of a workman blaming his tools?
  10. I dunno @Stu some of these changes could pass for cobbled together spare parts
  11. I wouldn’t have a clue about barges. My knowledge extends to seeing them in comedy programmes!
  12. Having only re-entered this ragtag bag of spares forum in November I’ll have to abstain. But if I qualified for voting @fastbob would be up there for keeping a motorcycle forum about motorcycling and making the place far more legit than it generally is But Im also with James in Brum about Mark’s post because when I read that thread I was quite blown away by how easy but painful it was to read (let alone live it and write it) but it also made me think there was hope for the forum being better. Which it is.
  13. Jacqui Furneux also lives on a barge in Bristol. Must be something about bikers n boats.
  14. Oh yer Louise Thought you meant Elspeth
  15. That is a very fortunate quirk of fate
  16. Not sure I think she’s Surrey way. I was supposed to be going to a gin and canapés womens motorcycle gear catwalk show, not a big event but they’d got the head designers of two companies to come and ask us what we wanted from mobike gear, she was coming along to that, would’ve been a laugh but damn that Covid!
  17. Let’s just call her Louise and be done with it
  18. I’d swear something I was served was actually silage with rose water drops on it
  19. I seem to be someone who bumps into people and I look harmless so people tend to just start talking Lois was deliberate though. It was an Iranian night and she’d not long been back from her trip to Iran so was giving a talk to a tiny group of people. She’s very very enthusiastic about Iran. I however discovered Im really not a fan of Iranian food
  20. @fastbob do we have some new pics coming our way?
  21. There’s so many ways that sentence could go wrong I’ll leave it to one of our deviants to fill in.
  22. Definitely an acquired taste
  23. I’ve never googled her so I didn’t know that, might have a look!
  24. Book wasn’t bad either.
