  1. Or that our royal family were mostly immigrants anyway.
  2. Theres something iffy sounding isnt there. The friend who sent it is generally reliable but I couldnt find it on the dvla site either so posted it here for you more discerning internet miners to dig up the goods. Looks like so far theres zero to back it up.
  3. But judge and slaughter is one of the cornerstones of British life
  4. No need for any concern it’s states- “Number plates already fixed to vehicles are unaffected.”
  5. Likely something silly. Maybe they’re going to get even bigger?!
  6. Apparently we have number plate changes coming. Not sure what the ‘new British Standard’ is though! Your members may also wish to note that from 1 January it will no longer be permissible to fix a new number plate displaying a Euro symbol. Number plates already fixed to vehicles are unaffected. We will also be introducing a new British Standard for number plates produced from 1 September 2021 which will mean all current style number plates that are first fixed to a vehicle from that date must meet the technical requirements contained in that standard.
  7. When someone told me they now instruct learners to use the clutch n brake to come to a stop in whatever gear they’re in I didn’t believe it, they used to bang on about ‘cruising with the engine disengaged being out of control’ but sure enough both sons with different instructors had just that. I find it disconcerting to be in the car with them now because it feels wrong, like they don’t know what they’re doing, like they’re not slowing in time but that’s how they were taught. Weird.
  8. I’ve informed my husband, he laughed and said hmmm... pictures or it didn’t happen
  9. Back on topic- My husband who admittedly has nothing to do with this forum (and finds it highly amusing I spend time here) would like @geofferz nominated for toty on the grounds he has maliciously paraded the fantasy lifestyle of threesomes with good looking babes is still a reality for some thereby making normal ageing mortals feel a bit shit
  10. Buns and cups of tea yes custard and cups of tea noooooooooo
  11. Custard on a simian bun no no no that would never do
  12. We even have a straight wide open piece of road with no housing or junctions off it with speed humps and a 10mph speed limit for no fathomable reason. I avoid it because if you do 10mph on that road you’ll likely incite road rage or get rear ended. The very last time I rode on it I had a police car driving about 1cm off my mudguard. In the end I pulled over.
  13. Difficult to comment without knowing the stretch of road isn’t it. A few years ago I would have thought 48 in a 30 WTF! But around here they seem to have gone speed limit crazy. I don’t mean the sensible stuff in built up areas but the multiple speed limits on the same type of road. We have one dual carriageway with 4 different speeds limits on it in pretty quick succession for no apparent reason that are not obviously marked with no junctions, bends or narrowing. The sharp braking and acceleration vehicles do on that stretch is the roads main risk.
  14. The vehicle you’re in/on makes a big difference to the way speed feels doesn’t it. Had a car once that should have come with a warning, stuck to the road like glue, the harder you drove it the better it was, the speed would very easily creep up without you noticing. Lent it to a friend, warned them to be careful it runs away with, you won’t realise until you need to change direction or something happens. She’s a very good driver but dismissed it, returned very red faced n panicked looking and said “you’re right... that car is dangerous” Easily done.
  15. Crikey James. You don’t do things by halves, from no points to 5 notices. Glad it didn’t turn into 10. When I started reading it I thought FIVE bijeezus how but on fast empty road you’re familiar with on your way to work I can imagine it’s easily done Have my fingers crossed for you it all gets let go in the backlog Covid has caused
  16. Dare I ask what happened with “speeding tickets”. No worries if you don’t want to go over it!
  17. More beautiful pics
  18. Oh jolly good, always nice to have a goat about the place.
  19. He thanked you before making a play for toty so at the moment his chances aren’t great. Not knowing how far you can push it is part of the fun
  20. Summink to do with your bike and a headlamp I think
  21. He’s skilled, theyre retractables, gets em out wen he needs em. Unlike some around here who struggle not to trip over them... along with their knuckles
  22. Has Goat made it through the wormhole? I don’t think I’ve seen him about.
  23. Done now? Happy?
