1. Very nice. Great pics.
2. goat ah yes now you point it out its obvious. The elite stuff isn't kevlar is something the belgian engineer came up with- hence the whopping price tag. Its not stiff and is soft, stretchy and breathable. Im thinking my yeti suit is so warm Ill be able to get away with just the Bowtex elite underneath for sometime. The knox waterproof over jacket I bought is excellent quality. Very happy they could offer something so well made at that price point.
3. I have been wearing bowtex elite leggings since last June and next week will be ordering the top. The stuff is sooooo comfortable that pyjamas would struggle to compete. The vids convince me they are adequate protection. The only flaw I see is the stretch in the material could mean in doesn’t stay in place if you’re sliding in the wrong direction. I’m going to add some ties to keep the top n bottoms securely fixed together to get round that. Better than Knox I think. Can’t imagine the flimsy elastane they use lasting 5 seconds in a slide. They are also superb in the summer heat due to great wicking. I flapped about in chiffon trousers (and a mesh jacket) cool as a cucumber while others sweated
4. Either you missed something or the other riders a berk. I wouldn’t let it take up anymore of your headspace. Quite often other people’s problems are just that- their problem.
5. Sure do
6. Thanks. I am tempted. Anyone else fitted one? Gerontious like the new avi
7. Yep these mean you looking at £6000 here Wasn’t for me though, I couldn’t stand to part with them at any price.
8. That fear thing that teachers used to use for humiliation and control has led to entire generations of peeps who can’t admit when they don’t know something. People who’d rather make something up than be caught out not knowing because the ridicule that came from not having an answer was worse than simply saying “I don’t know” It leads to you having to doubt the word of the person giving you information you need. You have to check with more than one source because it could easily be bollo. I see it the other way round. If they don’t know something then what have they been doing with the kids for the majority of their waking hours? It’s not the child’s failure it’s the system they’re shoved into. Its like dog obedience training. Hoop jumping to train you up for the next few decades of hoop jumping your going to do for an employer. Trained to accept boredom and rigidity. Education can offer freedom (when it’s free) but tying down young kids/adults to a university debt on a pathway they can’t even know if they really want is a horror and the pre university education they get is a joke. It really doesn’t take that long to learn to read, write and add up. I’m not convinced the generation who were raised used the antiquated fear n bully system of yesteryear have done such a great job of looking after the planet, people or the economy. This love of things needing things to be tough or worrying your childs not hard enough is a fear as old as time. Life can be tough, they’ll get their experiences in due course, there’s no preparation in childhood that can help sidestep it.
9. My question is this: How does one get involved in such a situation? I could really use a seven figure payout. Just put pop on a pencil skirt and it’ll easily come your way
10. Hi SCM, I'm assuming that the 6hrs was the ride back from the mudguard install. Sorry to hijack thread, but how did it go? Are you pleased with them? Start new topic, if it's worth talking about. Sorry for hijack @learningtofly S23 I had the best time. I’ll post when/if the blinking devices ever sync and I can post the pics! Cheers
11. Tut tut, what happened to innocent till proven guiltily, or until you buy your way out of it.
12. Depends on the preference. Bichon’s can be shown au naturale.
13. Sound reasoning for stronger kit
14. Hmm let’s see how the Philip Green thing pans out then revisit this thread
15. Love it. Nice looking and it delivers. Enjoy. Also great pics, where were you?
16. I love it. A West Country type solution farmers would be proud of- string and elastic bands, proper job.
17. Aah almost as cute as a Bichon. The official cat dog
18. You know speedy I often agree with you but on this one your just waaaaay off Congrats, nice looking cat that.
19. Have you slipped into a catatonic state?
20. That’s the thread. I think! How do you remember all this stuff?!
21. I’m happy to hear your looking for another job, where you are sounds very frustrating. I know nothing about Stafford so not much help there but I live 40mins away (supposedly 20mins but that’s a google maps joke) from Bristol in a place where not much happens and I think it’s an excellent combination. Quiet where you live but with access to places where stuff happens. You get peace and quiet but also have contact with life so don’t stagnate into a pool of “local village for local people” mentality. Only thing I’d definitely put on my hit list to check is how long it would take to commute to n from work. Where I live near Bristol is an excellent example of something that looks good on paper- get a bigger house and commute 20mins to Bristol, except lots of people figured this out and the commute is and hour or more in frustrating crawling traffic so 2hrs plus a day spent commuting. I’d check out the routes of the places you’d like to live in rush hour conditions. I would definitely move to the other side of Banwell bloody high street if I’d checked out rush hour routes! If I were you I don’t think I could pass up on an opportunity to move to a place with a garage and low insurance premiums.... and another bike
22. It was a link to a pic of two different sized ones and I think it was eBay but that one will do nicely. No expert but I can’t see that they would damage the heated grips. Are they easy to get on and off or do they go on and stay on?
23. Aah I’ve just been looking for the thread that has link to these. Anyone remember where that is? They had two different sizes. Took over 6hrs to get back yesterday and the last couple of hours my hand was stiff. Not a surprise really, if someone said “here grip this for 6hrs” you wouldn’t expect to be able to do it without a bit of ache. Let me know if you get one
