  1. Could be do-able but I'm in the same hangover boat. Plus the snow locally is going to take one hell of a thaw to get me back out again.
  2. Dropped my f**king watch and the main body is FUBAR. Mechanisms fine but the casing is FUBAR. £500 watch and I'm willing to bet i'll be looking at at least £100 for a new body. F**k it.
  3. Awesome feeling isn't it. Welcome to The Permanent Grin Club
  4. Congratulations mate. Fcking awesome feeling ain't it?
  5. Cheeeers folks. Still grinning like a bell end. It certainly was an experience in the wind. Got back in the test centre, looked out the window and no more than 20 seconds later the heavens opened, so I guess you could call that lucky.
  6. Now a member of the permanent grin club. The bike hunt begins.
  7. Could be under not making safe and steady progress. Filtering would be making steady progress, but not entirely safe. Contradiction but don't do it. 45 minutes OTR IIRC? If you spend 40 minutes of that in traffic, well that's just a shame.
  8. Ah simple mistake. You'll ace it next time. At least you didn't do what my mate did, on his 59 plate (so less than a year old) Black CBR125R and try the swerve in the wet only to lowside it and scratch the bast*rd to hell.
  9. Bollocks. Had it in my head i'd do it all by the book and get it done. And it was all going swimmignly in & around Banbury. Then did the 10 min independent ride, had to find my way to Broughton, which took me down one of those horrible crumbly single track lanes. This one to be precise: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&sourc ... 3,,0,23.42 Now it comes off an NSL road, and is therefore an NSL road itself, But doing 60 down it would put you in a hedge. Fast. So I thought "safe & steady progress" and continued down at 30, slowing to 20 because of a cyclist and a blind hill crest at one point. Made our way back to the test centre and Was told I'd failed because I was "too slow". Pissed off didn't come close. Well, 10 working days and we'll get THAT re-arranged.
  10. Sadly not, practised on a CG125, then had a go at my local training centre on my R125 and the little scraper things that extend off the foot pegs kept knocking cones. An hour and a bit from Warwick to Silverstone and back was an experience. Cheers folks, already got a stupidly large grin plastered on me.
  11. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay Was genuinely bricking myself at the test-centre (Silverstone) watching a 20-something girl have her test. 3 others in my group all passed. No Minors. 52kph on swerve, 51kph on E-stop. Right, better book MOD 2.
  12. I could be tempted if it was dry, but I just noticied you ride a thou and I ride a YZF125. Plus I couldn't make it until about 3.
  13. Proper MIDlands. None of this Lincs garble, way too far away. But If it's 125 learner friendly I'd be up for it. YZF 125, so by no means slow and have been riding a while so quite confident. Just can't do the whole 'Motorway' thing. Not that you should even go near one on a good rideout.
  14. Commute / bimbling to see friends: RST Lid w/ mirrored visor Frank Thomas Leather Jacket - shoulder & elbow padding, foam back protection. Armoured Leather gloves, fully padded fingers and knuckles. RST Kevlar Jeans - Minus the knee pads, pass as normal jeans them. I'm wearing them now, dead comfy. Leather & armoured boots. Spirited ride: Original list but leathers bottoms w/ knee sliders and full padding etc in place of jeans.
  15. ^^ nomnomnomnomnom You seem to have made your mind up on the Daytona. Go forth and purchase it. Then pics.
  16. Daytona is very very very nice, but NOTHING beats that CBR in Repsol scheme.
  17. Provisionally able to come, however I shall still be on L's. A-roads pretty much run along side the motorway for most of the trip, so I could try and convince another member around here to ride up the A's (them being on L's most likely).
  18. Sooo, next Wednesday anyone?
  19. D'oh, England game on Wednesday, I'm assuming many people will be "ill / off work" and therefore watching the game and therefore drinking, so it'll be relatively quiet. How does the 30th sound to everyone?
  20. Indeed it is, right on the locks. If I can kick, punch or otherwise convince friend with CBR 125 to come again, we'll have a little jolly out, up to meet Scorpion, then ride back down and in?
  21. Anyone here attend regularly? Have started going up for crisps & coke and a good stare at some bike porn. Anyone else interested in a little ride out then head over there? I live about 200 yards down the road so best to meet up somewhere then ride around a little before going there maybe? Wednesday's about 6pm onwards. Give or take. T'is great fun, bunch of friendly guys (in the order of hundreds) on a sunny day, and some lurvely bikes. (Also, yes I am on a 125, by no means slow in the 125 world, probably one of the fastest (bar derestricted RS's)), so, anyone up for it some day?
  22. As techno said, sit on all three and test-ride 'em, and whichever suits you best. Obviously I am massively biased to my bikes big brother, ze R6. the 2010 black one is stunning.
  23. Man speaks truth. Blue and white bikes are fastest.
  24. My YZF R125 will apparently do 75mph (Yamaha website). Its a 4 stroke (and therefore restricted to about 14.6bhp (the legal limit I believe). I can't see a YBR doing 75mph though. Speedo's can be out by up to 10% though.
