1. Oops I just agreed to buy this
2. If you think a Hornet will leave a Strom on twisties, back roads, and real world usage......there's not a hope! The only way you'll shake a Strom off is on long straight stretches where you can keep it in the sweet spot in the rev range all the time. And you're then into licence losing speeds! I don't get anywhere any slower on the Strom than I did when I had my Fazer. I never said I thought the hornet would leave the strom and as I said in my original post the hornet was my first big bike so I have nothing to compare it to. I have only test ridden a tracer 700 and while it was a nice ride it missed the oomph my hornet has despite the higher cc engine.
3. Sadly it looked tidier in the pictures. It has clearly been used as an all weather commuter bike in a previous life and had corrosion on almost every bolt and looked like it had been dropped several times but mechanically sound just asking a bit more than I'd like to pay in it's current condition. Very nice guy with a genuine reason for selling it but even he admitted he didn't know much about bikes and had only had it a year after buying it from a dealer in Exeter. I'll have to see how the tiger goes tomorrow.

Backache

If you can't stretch to a physio privately or via a gp maybe see if a sports massage therapist can see you. I get problems in my shoulder that causes upper back pain as there is a nerve trapped. I'm a sports massage therapist and I really wish I could give myself a treatment
5. I would have preferred a 1000cc version but I haven't found one in my budget and all the gubbins I want like abs. I'm a bit worried about the difference in bhp as my hornet has 100bhp and v-strom has 68bhp
6. Ahahahaha I waited until they were out the pram and big enough to get on the back before passing my bike test so don't assume we are all the same
7. Ok! Now that I've bleached my eyes. I'm off to see this tomorrow https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/300458021070677/ And a triumph tiger on Monday
8. I've been asked if it's my husbands bike
9. Doh! I didn't mean rubbish I meant this bike but I clearly didn't proof read my post
10. I'm very tempted by rubbish this, I just need more money http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202006109996294?atmobcid=soc3
11. That's more than enough for plenty of stroms, you should find a good Nc750 for that too. You looked on mcn sale section The chap in our local Honda dealer warned me against the NC750 as it has got low brake horse power. He said I'd get bored with it too quickly especially going from a hornet to a NC750.
12. Tops of £4500, it really depends how much I can get for my hornet.
13. I like the look of yamaha tracers, suzuki v-stroms, Honda crossrunner, Africa twins and triumph tigers (I'm yet to find one anywhere near my budget). If you were any kind of man you'd sell your bike so your better half can have more choice This also means I might actually have to let him ride one of my bikes
14. And this is my problem. There are loads to choose from I know I shouldn't complain really
15. Hi all, So I currently have a Honda hornet which I do love but it's a touch too small for me and silly long legs. After an hour I start to get uncomfortable and I can't rest my foot on the rear brake which worries me if I needed to do an emergency stop, thankfully the bike does have abs which is reassuring at least. I'm thinking about getting a touring style bike and I've test ridden a yamaha tracer 700 which was OK and I certainly liked the riding position but it felt quite different to the 4 cylindered hornet, not as smooth. I'm planning on doing some test rides over the summer to get an idea of what I want but can any one make any recommendations? Thankfully I'm just over 6ft so size isn't an issue but money is. I can't really spend more than about £4500 really. I'll be selling the hornet as well once I find the right replacement. Thanks in advance. Magpie
16. Just a brief post to tell those interested that I passed my mod 2 today on my first attempt
17. I've had a close call with a pheasant and thankfully ducked at the right moment so she just missed smacking into the side of my helmet. That was scary enough. I have to agree with Mississippi Bullfrog about the speed however with it being the chaps commute home that probably made him more blasé about doing the speed limit
18. That's it, although the a CBT lasts for 2 years and then if you haven't taken your A2, A1 or DAS then you'll need to do the CBT again to continue riding legally.
19. I had only ever ride a bicycle before I did my cbt. They teach you everything you need do know on the day.
20. Yeah, what Joeman said. The cbt is training in itself and by the end of the day if the instructor is happy that your competent enough they will sign you off or if you're like me you might need an extra day (I, as usual, let my nerves get the better of me and fluffed it up).
21. I'm 6'1 and I've done my training on one of these just fine. Hope that helps.
22. Having looked after these guys they often ignore the cricket or pinky that you drop into the tank. I don't dislike spiders but I have to agree with you these can be boring and on occasion aggressive, flicking hairs if you get too close.
