1. Wakey638 think about the physics. If there is power going to rear wheel the bike will keep going, even if you're in a full lock. You need to make sure you're slipping the clutch and keeping the revs around 3000rpm. It took me three attempts to pass the sodding mod 1 and I got quite good at the slow manuvers when I wasn't on the test pad. Practicing on the cbf will help but it's a big heavy bike so keep that in mind. I know SometimesSansEngine dropped the bike a few times during his training and his instructor ended up making him do circles with his eyes shut just to prove to him it could be done. You can do it but just keep practicing until you feel more relaxed on the bike and as Bender don't rush yourself.
2. Bender I don't know. It depends on when someone fails or I have to wait until May.
3. So I purposely didn't book my mod 1 and 2 at the same time. The reason being the last 2 times the stress of knowing I had my mod 2 a week or so later was too much and another thing to put me off trying to pass the mod 1 but now I've passed it I just want to get on and do my mod 2 so I can ride my hornet. I don't want someone to fail their mod 1 so I can have their mod 2 slot but I kinda wish they would so I can progress The stroppy only child in me is rearing it's and I'm trying my best not to stamp my foot and pout
4. It's like a female garage, got drawers with tools in, cupboards with degreasing agents in, a parts cleaner, a smaller version of powder coating oven (which I've been reliably informed must never ever be used for powder coating and they f**king mean it). Nope definitely not allowed to use it for powder coating
5. Sorry I should have said it's a 600 cc 08 plate hornet.
6. My new hornet came with standard cans but I'd like something that sounds a bit better but I honestly don't have a clue where to start. I've tried googling it but there are too many options so I was hoping you lovely ladies and gents could point me in the right direction
7. The hazard avoidance isn't as bad as it looks. It worried me for ages until I actually did it and then I remember asking my instructor if he was just making it easy to be nice.
8. If you've got a fair bit of road experience then go for it. I passed my mod 1 on my third attempt but others find it easy so go for it and see how you do. Good luck
9. misspoppy I passed yesterday on my 3rd attempt. I failed my first time by snatching the brakes and causing the front wheel to lock up and the bike through me off in a spectacular fashion so I totally get your nerves on the emergency stop and I actually found the getting up to speed the worst part rather than the stopping. All I can say is keep riding your 125 and try again, you will get there xxx
10. I used to wear a red jacket similar to that which was a hand me down from my dad, no idea where it is now not that I'd have any hope of fitting in to it now The difference is it was a means jacket......I hope Because of my height I'll probably end up having to buy a mens jacket but I can hope this one will fit as it would match the hornet.
11. I'm so tempted to buy this now. https://motogirl.co.uk/valerie-red-leather-jacket-4987-p.asp
12. Third time lucky I passed. I have no idea how as I put my foot down and stalled during the slalom but apparently that was a dab and only a minor so I'm not going to argue with them on that. I've freaking passed!
13. I think my grandpa was 94 before he finally gander up his licence, he realised his reactions weren't what they used to be. My other grandpa had to have his taken away as he was becoming dangerous.
14. My new hornet
15. oh! Ahahahahahahahahahaha! It's not just SometimesSansEngine that had that thought
16. Kids are always going to emulate their parents, they influence them on a daily basis but at the end of the day they are just clothes and names. The school will have safe guarding regs in place and I'm sure everything will be managed in what will no doubt be a delicate situation. Eddie izzard puts it in a brilliant way as ever. ">
17. I totally miss read that and thought he was on a 125cc and was trying to work out how the engine hadn't exploded getting up to those speeds before the video said it was a kawasaki
18. That makes me feel claustrophobic just thinking about it!
19. So OK I know I haven't past my test yet but this little beauty came up for sale in the week and after thinking about it and chatting with Mr SometimesSansEngine I put a deposit down today. Now all my kit apart from my helmet is black but the hornet is red so I'm thinking some new kit is in order right? Well maybe not straight away I need to get over the sting of paying for the bike
20. I listen to most music, it all depends on ebay) what mood I'm in. Currently it's mostly EDM and prodigy
21. This is one of a SometimesSansEngine favourites
22. Ah man! that sounds like the sort of thing I'd do. While not great at least you're not hurt
23. I ended up in *cough* Fowlers on Saturday but I had no bike or numbers
